Earl It Is is expected to lead at a strong tempo. DARK OPAL (10) was solid from the back of the pack first-up down the Pinjarra straight, beaten 3.4L as a $13 chance. The rise in trip should suit her and she'll be better for the fresh effort. Can sit closer than she did last time out and secure her maiden victory. HELIOS AMIGOS (7) is on debut for the Andrew Masters barn. He's shown enough in those trials to suggest he can run a big race on debut and he can make an impression in his debut. COSTA STAR (9) dipped at the end of last campaign, though the form to begin last campaign was very good. CJP rides first-up in a good push for her chances and she is expected to be running on strongly from back in the ruck. BRIEF ROMANCE (14) is another on debut, this time for the Dan Morton barn. She's a half-sibling to the G1 winning stallion Portland Sky and multiple winner Above The Peg. Can start her career on a winning note. EARL IT IS (2) can put himself on the speed from the inside barrier and is not to be discounted. SUGGESTED PLAY: Dark Opal can go a couple better this time.
