Waimarie and General Firepower possess good early speed. In a difficult race, SOREL RISING (11) at massive odds is worth considering. Led but just failed to hold on in a BM64 over this course and distance two runs back under 61.5kgs. Just fair at Ballarat last start but back here on home soil in an even race he is worth a shy at the stumps. SUNSET DREAMING (5) began awkwardly and was never a factor when resuming down the Flemington straight a fortnight ago. Finished third to A Little Deep in a BM84 at Caulfield when second-up last prep. Big chance if she recaptures that form. PRINZERRO (7) has been thereabouts without winning all prep, the last three appearances coming at Flemington down the straight. Nicely placed today to turn things around. WAIMARIE (2) resumes. Three recent trials/jump-outs should have her forward enough to run well. SUGGESTED PLAY: Sorel Rising each-way.
