Expecting Return Ace to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. RETURN ACE (5) could only manage fourth when resuming two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 1400m at this track, beaten only 1.5 lengths after being in contention on the bend. Worth noting Isao Yamaguchi goes aboard. Likely improver with strong prospects. TSUKIYONO USAGI (11) settled at the rear then stoked up nicely in the straight to finish fifth over 1300m here last time. Will drift back but is going to be hard to hold out. DANTSU TALON (7) is back at the races for the first time since December 16. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last time in work over 1300m at this track. Comes here with definite top-three claims. YELLOW SAPPHIRE (8) was beaten 32 lengths into 15th in a 1800m contest at Niigata Dirt last time out. Well placed and can figure in the finish this time.
