Fast tempo assured with King Celtillus, Fern Hill and El Capitan going toe-to-toe. GRIPEN (5) stayed on when fifth over 1400m at Durbanville last time. His penultimate run when second over 1400m at Kenilworth catches the eye. He is back in Maiden Company, and if suited to this course, he should find himself in the winner's enclosure. EL CAPITAN (11) was his own worst enemy over 1400m last time. He returns from a 21-week break, which would have done him the world of good. If not in need of the run and if switching off early, he should be right in the finish. WHITE SEAHORSE (10) has been in good form. He was steadied leaving the start last time and finished off his race well. With a bit of luck in running, he would not be a shock winner. GREEN MILE (6) was well-beaten into third over this distance at Scottsville last time. He finished second in his only attempt over this here. He gets the blinkers fitted, which should keep his mind on the task at hand. Each way value.
