Only a small field with Prince Carlos likely to find a comfortable lead. PRINCE CARLOS (3) was there on straightened but wilted late in heavy going over 1815m at Port Macquarie last Saturday. Has a better record at this distance so on a seven-day turnaround he makes plenty of appeal. BEG ME (7) backs up five days after a reasonable effort over 1700m at Wellington. Has raced here over the mile twice for two wins. Must be respected. TYCOON LAD (4) led but fell in a heap in a BM80 over 2100m at Tamworth on Tuesday. Meets a far softer field today over a more suitable journey so watch for a better performance. BOLD SPLENDOR (5) has been kept fresh since her first-up failure at Wyong on 27 February. Placed two from three second-up so can do a lot better. SUGGESTED PLAY: Prince Carlos gets the nod.
