AMETHYST HANDICAP 1400m Track: GOOD
Genuine tempo with the speedy Tourbillon Prince leading the way. STELLAR EXPRESS (6) jumped favourite last start and bumped into a couple of smart ones over 1200m. He looked to have plenty to offer on straightening, but wasn't doing his best work until late in the race, suggesting the rise in distance suits. Bowman sticks and a victory is right on his doorstep. RUBYLOT (9) ran strongly in his first C3 effort when ending up just 0.8L off the winner over this course and distance. He's trialled well since then and now Zac Purton takes the ride. Expecting him to get back from the draw, but he'll be closing off strongly into the frame. JOLLY RULER (10) is hard to knock on his recent form, showing his win two back was no fluke when 0.8L off the winner most recently. Racing well of late and is sure to put himself into the picture once again. TOP GUN (1) disappointed last start after a good win fresh. Has trialled nicely since that effort and can turn his form around.
