GOING: G

Off The Track BM78 Handicap 2400m

Track: GOOD 3   Clear (Max: 28)   Rail: True Entire Circuit.

A race that lacks pace so expect a muddling tempo at best. Promising stayer STEEL RUN (4) has been underwhelming in his two runs this prep, the latest in this grade over 2500m at Moonee Valley. Registered a peak figure last prep that would be good enough to win this. Expect he is ready now to get somewhere near that level. The consistent ZULU ANGEL (2) drove hard but arrived too late in that same 2500m test at the Valley three weeks ago. Has been in work forever but keeps performing. Sure to give a good account again. DSCHINGIS PRESTIGE (5) ran on well but was edged out of second spot by Zulu Angel when they clashed at Moonee Valley recently. Open to plenty of improvement at just the third run of the campaign. INEVITABLE AWARD (3) was competitive in a BM74 prior to being outclassed last start in the Roy Higgins at Flemington. Each-way chance back in this grade. Irish import ST VINCENTS GARDEN (6) hasn't made his mark here yet. Gets to his pet trip second-up and is thrown in with Prebble to ride at around 53kgs. SUGGESTED PLAY: Steel Run to win.
