NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:01 O'BRIEN ELECTRICAL & PLUMBING MAIDEN HANDICAP 1420m
Legin to take charge ahead of Pacific Reel at a solid tempo. Race complexion turned on its head after key scratchings. GENERAL GORDON (4) has not raced since his debut back on November 3 when he finished sixth over 1250m at Ballina. Will be better for that run. Placed in a recent trial at Beaudesert and is a leading contender. FUTURE HERO (9) ran midfield last start at Gold Coast Poly. Is up in distance today is in the mix. PACIFIC REEL (5) is an eight start maiden however has shown enough in his past few starts to suggest he can shed that tag. MOONSPELL (12) ran a good race two starts back in what was her best run this prep. COMEON KINGWILLIAM (2) next elect after running second in a small field at Murwillumbah first up.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Siding with General Gordon.
2 01:36 THE LISMORE APP BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1190m
She's A Revelation should spear straight to the front of the small field. BONDI PROPHET (3) finished seventh last time out as favourite over 1305m at Tuncurry, beaten 2.25 lengths. Better than that run suggests and can feature. GAMING (2) is yet to find the winners' list this time in work but has three placings from six runs this prep, finishing just 0.6 lengths away in third most recently over 1315m at Ballina. Looks a solid top-three prospect. KYOGLE KID (1) won at Ballina two back on a heavy track, leading throughout. Safely held last start however finds a race where he is well drawn and gets the 2kg claim used to good effect. IT'SALLSAIDANDONE (5) met with solid support last time out but could only manage to finish seventh over 1010m at Ballina in a disappointing performance. Finds a nice race and can atone.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 3,2,1,5.
3 02:11 KATRINA BEOHM REAL ESTATE MAIDEN PLATE 1115m
Brass Band and Not So Dubious to take up the running at a genuine tempo. POETIC ANGEL (9) finished third last start at the first run back from a spell over 1100m at Grafton, beaten 3 lengths. This is the right race and can take this out. LUCKY ME (7) finished fourth last start over 1010m at Ballina, an improvement on her sixth at Nowra the run before. Suitably placed so anticipating a big run this time. BRASS BAND (1) resumes off a year long spell. Prior first up outing returned his best career result to date with a second at Gatton. Has had three trials in readiness for this, improving with each of them. Struggle to make a case for any other runner with disclosed form. Watch betting for debutant NEW BEGINNINGS (8).  SUGGESTED PLAY: Poetic Angel to break through.
4 02:46 BASEC ENGINEERING CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1190m
Expecting Winter Storm to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint course. Mass scratchings change the complexion of this race noticeably. The loss of several anticipated key runners only strengthens the case for the resuming WINTER STORM (6). Led all the way to score on debut over 1215m at Coffs Harbour five months ago and has not raced since. Has since been kept ticking over with a Coffs Harbour trial. Has plenty of upside and should go on with it. Main rival looks to be OUR SPARKY (13) placed at Ballina first up before a fading sixth at Coffs Harbour last start. Honest mare who finds the right sort of race. RISK ASSESSMENT (15) was safely held last start however her prior two runs were solid, particularly her effort at Ballina. MIDWEST PRINCESS (7) rounds out the key hopes.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Winter Storm to resume a winner.
5 03:25 AUSTEC PLUMBING BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1420m
Only a small field with Besiege likely to find a comfortable lead. ANDROS (2) is putting together some solid results. Finished third at Ballina two starts back then landed the prize by a head last time out over 1600m at Ballina. Well placed and can score again. BESIEGE (8) raced on the speed when resuming last start but peaked on his run on straightening and faded to finish seventh over 2000m at Warwick. Has the pace to settle in the leading division. Should give backers a sight back in trip. TWILIGHT STEPS (3) has finished midfield in his past two outings. Fitter third up and holds each way appeal dropping back to an easier contest. Small field but decent depth, OTTOMAN EMPIRE (10), DUPONT (4) and UNIQUE ELLE (16) all hold each way claims.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Andros can go back-to-back.
6 04:05 HLB MANN JUDD BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1115m
Solid tempo with Secret Statement possessing enough dash to find the front. GLAM (2) improved sharply on her sixth two starts back at Ballina with a win over 1260m at Ballina five weeks ago, getting home by 0.7 lengths after being prominent at the turn. Nicely placed to take this out. PRINCE RUPERT (8) finished out of the money two starts back then he was never in contention and was beaten 3.5 lengths when fifth in a 1005m contest at Tuncurry a week ago. Finds a nice race and can play a significant role. VEGA NOVA (7) raced below his best last time when seventh over 1100m at Toowoomba. Suitably placed so anticipating a better run this time. PICKUPSTIXX (9) resumes. Three start summer campaign was solid enough.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Glam can get the job done again.
