TAB We're On 1400m
Many of these juveniles step out for the first time so a strong pace is anticipated. RESONANT (1) looks the one to beat on exposed form in the opener. He ran a good race on debut at Bendigo in the Vobis Gold Rush, charging home to grab a narrow second. Can't see 1400m being an issue off that and he should be able to get into the running line around the home bend. AUTUMN CHARM (9) has been right there in both starts to date, running on well to just miss at Ballarat when last seen. She should relish the rise in trip now and take holding out. MENESS (2) is a colt by Ghaiyyath on debut for the Mark Walker yard in the Yulong colours. He's been jumping out well and looks ready to go despite the wide gate. VOLESTAIN (4) is a colt by Zousain on debut for the McEvoy yard who have been striking at a high rate with their 2yos recently. Respecting from a good gate. CENTENARY FLORIN (5) won well on debut at Warrnambool and could measure up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Resonant to win. |

Trevor Clarke Handicap 2000m
A genuine pace is expected with Ballistic Romeo, Fenestella and Soldier Boi rolling along early. Tricky little affair. Leaning to DIFFERENT GRAVY (1) who might just be able to improve again third up. He's clearly in need of a trip having run on well for fourth at Morphettville second up over 1800m, and an easy mid-prep trial win over 1400m should have him screwed down for the 2000m here. CLASSIC GEM (3) brings the clear best form into this, fourth in the G1 ATC Oaks last start. She's off five weeks and back in trip off what was her 'grand final' so to speak, but if she produces something like her best she's the one to beat. BUTHELEZI (5) was just behind BRAVE DANZA (4) at Caulfield Heath in April 29. Buthelezi was first up there having shown good ability in WA prior and can improve, Brave Danza beat him home narrowly and also has claims. There are plenty of impressive last start maiden winners engaged, of all of them CATCH THE MOON (11) is the one that appeals at odds. SUGGESTED PLAY: Different Gravy to win. |

Sir Eugene Gorman Handicap 1400m
From their wide draws Mystic Wonder and Khadime can establish a strong tempo. LOVELYCUT (2) looks well placed third up. Both runs back have been good but she really caught the eye with a strong finish here last start to just miss by a long neck. 1400m seems her best trip and a repeat effort goes a long way to winning. She finished ahead of MADIYYA (4) there who was first up and ran on well in her own right for a narrow fourth. Staying at 1400m is a little niggle but she should come on from that and has always shown good ability. XARPO (3) tried hard at Bendigo last start but was just edged out by a nose. She's been largely consistent this time in and will be hard to run down again. MYSTIC WONDER (7) wasn't far away in G2 company last start and did win prior, have to respect. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Lovelycut & Madiyya. |

K.A Morrison Handicap 1400m
Expecting a strong tempo with Flying Done, Humble Trader and Our Chief going forward ahead of Lucky Lucky Boom and Sulek. All eyes will be on ultra impressive last start winner CONCORD CONNIE (7) who backed up a big maiden win at Pakenham with a huge victory over this track and distance, settling back and rounding them up to race away and score by six lengths. She did it in the style of a Group horse and the clock backed it up all the way. Deep, deep into the red since markets opened is getting prohibitive but she should be winning again. Outside her, FLYING DONE (1) does look a good bit of each-way value first up. He made great strides last campaign winning three on the bounce and maps nicely up on speed. Has to give away weight but he should give you a sight at big odds. THE VOLTA (9) tried hard in the Bendigo Guineas second up behind a good one in Gold Coast Belle and that form should hold up nicely. SULEK (5) beat The Volta home there at a big price and has each-way claims. OUR CHIEF (4) perhaps next best first up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Concord Connie - Flying Done exacta. |

Sharp EIT Sir Henry Bolte Handicap 1200m
Genuine tempo with the speedy Bacash crossing from the outside gate. Have to follow up with YES YOSHI (9) who was a horror watch first up at Bendigo, smashed in betting and never really seeing daylight, shuffled back, held up, then stopped in his tracks again late when making a late dash. Wipe that run, 1200m down the straight looks a nice spot for him. Wary of MARSEPT (16) who bolted in with her maiden as the $1.14 favourite at Geelong in strong late time. Prior to that she'd only been run down by Extragalactic who was a nose off being a G1 winner last week in Adelaide. WISE INLAW (8) is racing well without winning this time in, trying hard in the Bendigo Guineas last time, finishing ahead of BACASH (1) who again has the big weight. Bacash was a bit plain there, but can improve. Wise Inlaw should be competitive again. CATWALK ICON (14) ran in a good race at Bendigo last time as well and measured up, she should do so again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Yes Yoshi & Marsept. |

L.V Lachal Handicap 1600m
Oh Too Good and Verdad to take up the running at a genuine tempo. Interesting race. ZAHRANN (1) was scratched from the Golden Mile at Bendigo and comes here a couple of weeks later instead. He was last seen starting $6.50 in a G1 Irish Champion Stakes when down the track to Delacroix who was a world-class galloper. This is very winnable if he's right to go. MISS PLAYLOUNGE (10) was a surprise winner of the Gold Bracelet at Bendigo last start but just gets in so well here, dropping 5kg after beating them fair and square. A repeat of that performance at these weights would just about see her win again. WONDER BOY (4) was very good in the Golden Mile when just nosed out by Von Hauke. With even luck from the inside gate he'll go close. OH TOO GOOD (3) was second to Miss Playlounge last time and meets her 4.5kg worse off but up to a mile can suit. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Zahrann & Miss Playlounge. |

Lexus Andrew Ramsden 2800m
Changingoftheguard and Sir Chartwell to battle for the leading role. Fascinating edition of the Andrew Ramsden with a Melbourne Cup slot up for grabs. ZAKOUMA (10) had been making his way through the grades nicely before last start as the $2.05 favourite, getting much further back than ideal, dashing home well under the circumstances. Quickly to 2800m but he should handle it and whilst not well in at the set weights, he profiles as if he'll make the grade sooner rather than later. THE WESTERN FRONT (9) is in great form over these staying trips, coming away to win well here over 2500m last start. He'll relish the 2800m and take beating again. The interesting one is last start G1 Sydney Cup winner CHANGINGOFTHEGUARD (1) who led at a crawl and held them off at 50/1. He's got the class but how much he regresses will be interesting. NEWLOOK (4) was okay in the Sydney Cup having won nicely prior. Fancy he wants wet ground but he can still win. AMERICAN WOLF (13) won the St Leger over this route as a 3yo and will stay all day. SUGGESTED PLAY: Zakouma on top. |

Hilton Nicholas TAB Straight Six 1200m
A strong tempo from Marble Nine and Celsius Star pressing forward along with Fancify. STOLI BOLLI (12) looks well placed down in the weights. He's come back well, winning 2/3, just getting into a tricky spot at Mornington two back. He was dominant sitting off a strong tempo at Bendigo with 59kg and drops to 54.5kg here, with proven experience down the straight. DE BERGERAC (7) comes down from Sydney in solid form, finding the line well behind a progressive horse in Signor Tortoni at Randwick in a BM88 last start. He hasn't won for a while but is right up to this at his best and should be coming home well late. FANCIFY (6) resumes, now with the Ciaron Maher yard (formerly Michael Hickmott). She's never missed a place at 1200m and goes well fresh. Keep safe if she's firm in betting. LOSESOMEWINMORE (8) struggled in the G3 Hawkes Stakes fresh but was kept safe in betting there and can improve quickly with great straight track form. POP AWARD (3) is a good little mare who should be thereabouts again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stoli Bolli on top. |

Murray Cox Handicap 1800m
Genuine tempo from Opening Address leading Mr Blunt. Looks a bit of a race in two and just slightly leaning to SKIPPERS CANYON (7) over MR BLUNT (11). They both come through a BM74 over this trip which Mr Blunt won well, sitting wide with cover and getting a nice swooping ride to come away and score by 2.25 lengths. Skippers Canyon was only second up and was a bit tight for room as Mr Blunt surged away but closed off nicely late and now meets him 3kg better off, also gaining the services of Craig Williams. At the prices, we'll go with Skippers Canyon to turn the tables. OPENING ADDRESS (5) made nice improvement second up at Bendigo, just finding one better under 62kg. Up in trip suits and he'll take some catching. WEALDSTONE (10) ran well fresh in the same race and is in the mix with added fitness while VILLASAURUS (2) was good in the Wagga Cup last time and that should have him thereabouts. SUGGESTED PLAY: Skippers Canyon to win. |
