NUM TIME COMMENT
1 10:05 Maiden Race 1800m
STRONG BOY (8) has been racing in great heart with two top-three finishes on end, the latest a third over 1700m at Fukushima Dirt. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot find winning ways. CRIMSON LEAF (7) is back from a spell of nine weeks. Closed last prep with a sixth, beaten 5.5 lengths, over 1900m at Chukyo Dirt. Lightly raced colt who can go onto better things this prep. OABARE (15) led for home but did little thereafter on debut last time out, beaten 15 lengths into ninth over 1800m at Kyoto Dirt on April 25. Can offer a bit more resistance today. WAVE MOON (3) went forward last time and looked a chance on the corner but faded to finish fourth over 2100m at Tokyo Dirt. Rates highly in this field and can turn things around.
2 10:35 Maiden Race 1200m
Looks a race in two. SCHWARZ SCHILD (14) wasn't far off maiden success before a break of ten weeks, finishing the campaign with a minor placing over 1200m at Nakayama Dirt. Anticipating a positive return to racing. NAMURA RODIN (12) is going well without winning. Last start finished fourth, beaten 6 lengths, over 1400m at Kyoto Dirt. Yet to break through at this trip but has registered two minor placings. Looks the obvious threat. PYOITTO HARERUYA (13) followed an unplaced effort first-up two runs back with a third last start over 1600m at Tokyo Dirt after being prominent at the turn. Can figure in the finish. ANGE REINE (15) is back after a break of ten weeks. At the last run before the layoff she finished ninth over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt. Should be thereabouts.
3 11:05 Maiden Race 1600m
Not much separates the top handful. BANG ON TIME (9) returns from a layoff of three months. Worth noting she filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last prep over 1800m at Tokyo. Has found the right race to launch this prep in the right way. RUNWAY MUSE (1) is back from a spell of ten weeks. Closed last prep with a third, beaten 5.5 lengths, over 1800m at Nakayama. Sure to prove tough to stop while fresh. MIRACULOUS EARTH (14) is a three-start maiden who resumed from a spell last start and was beaten 1.5 lengths when fourth over 1600m at Kyoto. Bold showing expected with added fitness this time. REALIZE GEYSER (8) returns after six-and-a-half months in the paddock. Closed the last campaign with a sixth over 1400m at Kyoto Dirt. Can kick off in a positive manner.
4 11:35 Maiden Race 1800m
WONDER BLITZ (10) made an encouraging debut last time out, finishing a neck from the winner in second over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt. Open to sharp improvement and can get off the mark this time. ZELANTE (4) missed the placings on debut two starts back then ran a better race and finished 4.5 lengths away in fourth last time out over 1800m at Kyoto Dirt after being in contention on the turn. Looks well placed so expect a big run this time. MEISHO TAIZAN (7) was in the money at Kasamatsu when resuming two runs back then could only manage fourth at Fukushima Dirt over 1700m four weeks ago. Settles off the speed but can finish hard - expected to feature. BOLD TOWER (11) finished 4 lengths from the winner in fourth after being prominent at the corner at his most recent appearance over 1800m at this track. Likely to be thereabouts again.
5 12:25 Maiden Race 1800m
Quite a few live chances in this one. ANOTHER FACE (1) is a two-start maiden who finished fourth, beaten 2.25 lengths, when resuming from a spell last start over 1800m at Tokyo. Plenty of scope for improvement and is a great chance to break through. VENIZELOS (2) has not raced since her debut on March 7 over 2000m at Nakayama when she finished fourth, beaten 4.5 lengths. Expected to be very competitive. SMART ELAN (3) missed the frame when resuming last start over 2000m at Fukushima but wasn't all that far from the winner. Has the pace to be in a prominent position from the outset. Should be involved in the finish. ENGLEMAN (6) is a two-year-old colt on debut from the stable of Masayuki Nishimura. By Peltzer from Didnt Even Kiss Me. Worth watching for a betting push.
6 12:55 Maiden Race 1000m
CONFIANZA (13) is a nine-start maiden who went close to shedding the tag last time when second over 1000m at this track. Should be prominent from the outset. Faces an ordinary field today and won't get a better chance to break through. GIOIA MIA (11) was resuming from a spell of four months last start when a solid third over this course and distance. Has the gate speed to take up a forward position. Sure to be in the finish. RYUSEI KOTEI (16) is back after a break of 11 weeks. At the last run before the lay-off he finished eighth over 1200m at Kokura. Has ability and is a leading player. INUBONO SHIOKAZE (6) has not raced since her debut back on February 22 when she finished 13th over 1400m at Tokyo Dirt. Open to improvement this time in work and can feature.
7 01:25 Allowance Race 1200m
HRUDUDU (1) showed early speed from a good draw last time and battled on to finish sixth, beaten 3 lengths, over 1200m at this track. Not a great deal of quality to this race so she will take some beating. MADAM IGRAINE (2) is a talented galloper who is unbeaten in three runs this time in, the latest at Sonoda over 1400m. Steps out of NAR for a new stable but looks good enough to make the transition. PEISHA MARINE (3) missed the placings when resuming two runs back then didn't feature last start when 9 lengths away in tenth over 1150m at Fukushima Dirt after being prominent at the turn. Best figures measure up nicely. Can bounce back. SHANGHAI NIGHT (9) produced a moderate effort last start when 12 lengths from the winner in 14th over 1200m at this track. Finds a nice race and can atone.
8 02:00 Allowance Race 1800m
DANON VESTAL (5) resumes today after filling a minor placing at his only appearance last prep at Hanshin Dirt over 1800m on March 7. Likely to push forward and race on the pace. Should be a bit too good for these. FALCON MINORU (9) is usually thereabouts but finds it hard to win, with only one victory from 21 starts. Was again denied last start when he found one better over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt. Placed to advantage and looks the only realistic danger. SONATAN (6) was mediocre last start when seventh over 1400m at Tokyo Dirt, beaten 6 lengths. Not much depth outside the top pair so he has strong top three prospects. ZARATAN (7) returned from a spell three weeks ago when she was beaten 4.5 lengths into eighth over 1700m at Fukushima Dirt. Fitter so a likely improver.
9 02:35 ISHIUCHI TOKUBETSU 1800m
Not a lot of depth to this. LULU LIMA (12) is coming along nicely with back-to-back minor placings, the latest when second over 2000m at Fukushima at her third run in from a spell. Cherry-ripe now and should be too good for these. JOYEUX NOEL (5) returned from a spell seven weeks ago when she was beaten 3 lengths into fourth over 1600m at Chukyo. Must raise the bar but she is the logical danger. CHIARAMENTE (14) is back from a spell of ten weeks. Turned in a fair effort at Nakayama over 1600m at her only run last prep, finishing sixth and beaten 2.25 lengths. Will be handy despite the tricky draw. Should be involved in the finish. QUEENS WHARF (8) doesn't win out of turn but ran a nice race when resuming from a spell last time out over 1800m at Fukushima, finishing third and beaten 1.75 lengths. Sure to be in the mix.
10 03:10 NAKANODAKE TOKUBETSU 1800m
SMART SPEAR (4) returns from a layoff of nine weeks. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last time in work over 1700m at Kokura Dirt. Strong chance to kick the campaign off on the right note. SONIC STEP (5) crossed from an outside draw last time to stalk the lead before drawing clear to win by half a length over 1800m at Hanshin Dirt. Atsuya Nishimura who has scored on him twice retains the mount. Sure to play a big role. DYAUS (8) returns after a spell of 11 weeks. Started the last campaign in good style when in the placings over 1700m at Kokura Dirt. Can make his presence felt. ARC D'OR (1) was safely held when third last time out over 1800m at Kyoto Dirt, beaten 6 lengths, after a win at Hanshin Dirt at the previous outing. Finds a suitable race and can figure prominently.
11 03:45 THE NIIGATA DAISHOTEN 2000m
DOURADORES (6) has been thereabouts in two runs this prep against better company, the latest result a fifth beaten 1.1 lengths in the G2 Kinko Sho at Chukyo over 2000m. Change of rider to Christophe Lemaire who has never been out of the money in four rides, including a win. The testing material. SUGAR KUN (15) lines up for the first time since May 26 2024. Won a G2 2 over 2400m at Tokyo when last in work to stamp his quality. Rates highly on best form and is a chance if forward enough YAMANIN BOUCLIER (8) has not appeared since he finished fifth over 2100m in the G1 Neom Turf Cup at Riyadh on February 14. Yet to prove himself at this level but is a strong top-three prospect. ANGOLA BLACK (4) lines up for the first time since March 7. Started the last campaign in good style when in the placings in a Gr 3 over 2000m at Nakayama. Can make her presence felt.
12 04:30 Allowance Race 1400m
EIGEN HAARD (16) is usually thereabouts but finds it hard to win, with only one victory from 10 starts. Again tasted defeat last start when fourth over 1600m at Hanshin, beaten 1.3 lengths. In a shallow race and there is no reason he cannot get the major prize. ONE CALL AWAY (11) hit the frame when resuming two runs back at Chukyo but couldn't back it up last start when eighth, beaten 5 lengths, over 1400m at Hanshin after being prominent at the corner. Likely improver with strong prospects. SANTA ANITA (10) resumes. Finished the last campaign with a couple of minor placings, the latest over 1400m at Chukyo five months ago. Has good early toe so she should be handy in the run. Genuine contender. PIERCED EARS (5) turned in a solid run last time, boxing on to finish third at Fukushima. Suited by today's longer journey and figure again.
