LESLEY CHENERY MAIDEN 1000m
A distinct absence of early speed so don't expect any records to be broken. MARITIME DREAM (12) comes here off a 72-day break where he was beaten 4.5L. The apprentice hoop Jason Li rides, getting the filly right down in the weights. Draws to get every chance in this easier maiden and can make a statement. LIKES TO CHANT (8) will appreciate this easier assignment today and is another coming here off a freshen. Derrick hops on board and she looks well placed on what she's done recently. Can feature in this suitable race. DASHING DIVA (11) returned from a spell two-and-a-half weeks ago when she was beaten 5 lengths into seventh over 1113m at Geraldton. Fitter so anticipating a better run this time. COSTA STAR (6) is racing well and is close to a win, the latest effort a solid third at Geraldton over 1113m. Nicely placed to feature in the finish. DARK OPAL (7) has trialled well coming into this and can put her best foot forward with the form she brings in. SUGGESTED PLAY: Maritime Dream makes the most appeal. |

LEON BAKER JEWELLERY HANDICAP 1000m
The Coolakin King has good early speed and can set a decent tempo. MARS MISSION (5) comes back in trip today on the back of a slightly disappointing effort at Narrogin last time out. It's been a while since he's saluted the judge, but his recent form stacks right up in this field. Blinkers come off now and he can end his winning drought. WEAPONS HOT (8) will appreciate this much easier assignment today after never featuring at Ascot when first-up. The inside draw helps him here, as does Tsang's claim. Fitter now and can improve quickly. SIMPLY ROSSO (4) last appeared four weeks ago over 1403m at Geraldton when he finished 11th. This is his first run for the Allan Hughes stable. Well-placed and is among the chances. ON THE FULL (7) has not won for a long while. Last raced on April 26 when beaten 4.5 lengths into fourth at Rockingham over 1200m. The engagement of Kate Pateman is a positive move. Taking on a better line-up this time but he cannot be underestimated. OUR KIWI PRINCESS (3) is next best. SUGGESTED PLAY: Mars Mission gets the nod. |

SEA HARVEST FISHING COMPANY HANDICAP 1000m
Genuine pace with Soaring Solo taking up the running ahead of Tawaaj and Devils I. DENVER AFFAIR (8) has been a little disappointing this time in work after showing some promise in her prior campaign. She'll carry no weight on her back after the claim of Li and she has enough speed to get across from the draw. She can bounce back to her best. STRYKER'S GAL (6) finished off well from the back at Geraldton first-up and comes back to 1000m today. That is the query, but she should be better for the fresh run and the inside draw and if they overdo it up front, she'll be poised to strike. SOARING SOLO (2) was out of the money when resuming from a spell last start over 1300m at Northam, beaten 14 lengths after being in the firing line on the turn. Strips fitter and can bounce back. TAWAAJ (9) produced another moderate effort last start when 8 lengths from the winner in seventh over 1100m at York. Well placed to turn things around. GOLD SPY (5) can feature in the finish off a freshen. SUGGESTED PLAY: Denver Affair gets the nod. |

MAZURAK HANDICAP 1200m
Mystery Minute and Space Ace will settle forward and can set a moderate tempo. ALMA MATER (5) disappointed out to the mile last time out and can bounce back to form off a freshen. The inside draw suits and he'll appreciate the easier race here today. Can bounce back to winning ways. SWEXAN (3) flew home from the back of the pack to just miss first-up and is a second-up winner in the past. He remains at the sprint trip after stepping up in distance last campaign. Watch for him late in the race. TASSORT WE WANT (2) last appeared two months ago over 1600m at Ascot when he finished fifth. This is his first run for the Brett Pope stable. Can make his presence felt. KIMBERLEY CURRENCY (6) was unplaced two runs back when fresh from a spell then again missed the frame last start over 1300m at Northam, beaten 7 lengths into fifth. Best efforts measure up so worth another chance. ONLY US (11) can be in the finish first-up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Alma Mater can get the job done. |

SEA HARVEST LADIES DAY BRACELET 1200m
Solid tempo with Kunapipi possessing enough dash to find the front. THE KING'S UNCLE (2) pulled up with cardiac arrhythmia first-up and has been back to the trials since. He's much better than he showed there and should improve with the run under his belt. The rise in trip is a big tick and he can bounce back to his best form. UNDERCOVER SNIPER (5) is racing well without winning recently but carries no weight today after the claim of Li. The draw makes things tricky, but he looks well placed on his recent form and he can end his winning drought. PULL THE TRIGGER (8) finished 12th over 1410m at Geraldton at his most recent appearance on October 23. Worth plenty of thought. IRONCLAD BOY (3) was beaten 7 lengths into ninth in a 1413m contest at Geraldton at his latest appearance. Likely improver with strong top-three prospects. AWESOME LILY (9) can improve third-up into the campaign after a disappointing run as favourite most recently. SUGGESTED PLAY: The King's Uncle looks the one. |

SHARK BAY PRAWN HANDICAP 1400m
Genuine tempo from Pat's Last Bang leading Crimmo. PAT'S LAST BANG (4) hits this third-up and on the back of a solid performance in a CL5 at Northam last time out. The inside draw is a big tick for her today as she can land on the speed from a good draw. Should be at her peak fitness now and she can get back to winning form. CRIMMO (7) flew home to win at Geraldton last time out, scoring by 1.1L when flying from the back of the pack. He rates highly on the back of that performance. He's likely to get back in the run once again, but can get over the top to score back-to-back wins. LET'S SEA (1) finished 0.9 lengths from the winner in sixth on turf at Dongara two starts back. Missed the frame in another run on turf last time at Geraldton over 1619m when 6 lengths adrift in fourth. Better placed and can make amends. LIM'S SARBACH (9) ran a better race last start, finishing 3.5 lengths away in fourth over 1413m at Geraldton. Finds a nice race and can bounce back. DREAM ILLUSION (8) is next best. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Pat's Last Bang in the last. |
