MORETON HIRE Class 6 Handicap 1350m
Solid tempo with Midnight Dynamite leading from True To Form and Bunker Hut. Doomben will host the 9 race Metro card in Queensland this weekend, which includes the Group 1 Doomben 10000 over 1200m. The first is a class 6 Handicap worth 85K over 1350m. MIDNIGHT DYNAMITE (2) won by a nose fresh up at Randwick 3 weeks ago, and he is just as sharp second up. JMac has picked up the ride, and he is set to repeat. TRUE TO FORM (7) finished runner-up at Eagle Farm in a similar field to this 4 weeks ago, and he maps to receive a cosy run early on here. As long as the ground is not too wet, he can go one better. BUNKER HUT (1) is a consistent gelding who may not win often, but he has won his only start on this track. His last run was 6 weeks ago, and he can be relied upon to run his usual honest effort. COSMO CENTAURUS (4) will be chasing a hat-trick of wins, and he has the services of Zac Purton which is always a bonus. He climbs in weight but can still get the job done. EXPRESS PAYMENT (8) strips fitter and has a good draw. Include. SUGGESTED PLAY: Midnight Dynamite to win this. |

DRINKWISE BENCHMARK 85 Handicap 1600m
Off the inside draw Kaluakoi should boot up and lead at a solid tempo. These full-size fields will make finding winners very difficult, but the flip side will be getting value. A BM85 over 1600m is a minefield, and we like NODACHI (15) has found form again since joining the Matt Dunn stable, and she will be chasing a hat-trick of wins. A wet track is no problem, and she can get the job done again. KALUAKOI (18) should secure the run of the race for the pole position, and his record here is strong. He may even try to take them all the way, especially with Zac Purton stepping into the irons. ECLAIR AWESOME (12) has been in good form, and she performs best with some cut in the ground. Ben Thompson is back in the saddle, ad despite a wide gate, she can still run another honest race. Each way. CRANKY HARRY (4) needed his fresh run, and he usually is much better second up. A good draw and having Nash Rawiller in the saddle, makes him a top 3 chance. DIAMOND EPIC (13) is also not out of this at odds. SUGGESTED PLAY: Kaluakoi each-way. |

XXXX QTIS 3-Y-O Plate 1350m
Expecting Urban Lad to lead Artistic Venture at just a moderate tempo. A 3YO Plate with a QTIS bonus attached is to run over 1350m for 125K. FABULANTES (3) caught the eye last time out at Eagle Farm with a fast-finishing fifth in stakes company there 4 weeks ago. He had won 3 on the bounce before that, and from a superior gate, with Zac Purton on the saddle, he can return to his winning ways immediately. BURMA STAR (1) tried hard when second in the Hawkesbury Guineas a fortnight ago, and he is nearing the sort of good form that he showed in the spring when racing in Melbourne. Hard to beat in this. ESTREMO (4) was doing his best work late when finishing fifth as the favourite at Hawkesbury 2 weeks ago. He only needs the gaps to appear at the right time to be a big each-way threat in this. SMEXY (13) failed to run on as expected as the favourite at Eagle Farm 3 weeks ago when finding 1600m a touch too far on a testing heavy track. She is better placed in this, and she can make amends. HIDDEN ACHIEVEMENT (2) strips fitter second up, and he has JMac riding. SUGGESTED PLAY: Fabulantes to win. |

SEVEN SPIRIT OF BOOM CLASSIC 1200m
Off the low draw Coastal Boom is likely to find the lead at a slick tempo. The Group 2 Spirit Of Boom Classic for the juveniles is worth 300K to be run over 1200m. DREAM ROCA (9) resumed in the Dalrello Stakes at Eagle Farm 2 weeks ago over ran on late to finish fourth. She showed what she can do over this trip when winning the Karaka Millions at Ellerslie before that, and with the advantage of the pole position, she should be among the hardest to beat here. VANTORIX (3) franked his easy maiden win at Taree with another win at Grafton, and though this is so much harder, he did win a recent trial on this track, and he must have impressed JMac who has picked up the ride. The hat-trick beckons. ESPERANZA (11) had plenty of excuses when beaten as the favourite last time out at Eagle Farm in the Calaway Girl Stakes 3 weeks ago. She cops a tricky gate, but she can make amends. Follow your money. DOUBLE COOL (10) has yet to win a race, but did run fourth in the MM Classic at the Gold Coast in January. Include. THE AUTUMN AFFAIR (13) is also a top 4 chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Dream Roca, Vantorix quinella. |

SKY RACING BERNBOROUGH HANDICAP 1600m
Genuine tempo from Cristal Clear leading Victoria Road. Another very strong field will contest the Listed Bernborough Handicap over 1600m for 200K. WELWAL (2) booked his ticket North after winning the G3 Doncaster Prelude at Rosehill 7 weeks ago, and his connections deliberately missed the Doncaster to target this carnival. He has been a proven weight carrier in the past, and he has attracted the services of JMac, which is a strong lead. Hard to beat again, especially if the track is wet. KRONENBOURG (7) made the most of the step up to 1600m when flipping his form around with an easy win on a heavy track at Eagle Farm 3 weeks ago. He loves it here, and another bold run is expected, minus the fancy price this time. COTE ATLANTIQUE (8) great chance to break though after a string of placings. CRISTAL CLEAR (6) has a good gate, and he is capable of another top 3 finish. SUGGESTED PLAY: Welwal can win this at value. |

MAGIC MILLIONS BRIGHT SHADOW 1110m
En Pointe and Nepo Baby can be prominent. The first leg of the quaddie is over 1110m, and finding the winner is not easy. GIVE GIGGLES (10) won fresh up at Eagle Farm by a short-head 3 weeks ago over 1000m, and she gets through wet ground with no problem. She is that little bit stronger this prep, and she is just as sharp second up. She drops 5.5kg, and has another chance to add some black type to her pedigree. NEPO BABY (11) has been G3 placed is her last couple of starts, and she is knocking on the door for her next win. A good draw, and a drop in weight, will make her very competitive again. THE BLACK CLOUD (2) likes it wet, and she will find this easier than her last 2 starts, including her last run in the G1 Galaxy at Rosehill 8 weeks ago. She has the pole position, and a recent sound trial will ensure that she is ready to rumble in this. AUSTMARR (3) fought on gamely fresh up in the Gold Rush at Hawkesbury 2 weeks ago, and she has the services of Zac Purton from a good draw here. CIGAR FLICK (8) include in multiples. SUGGESTED PLAY: The Black Cloud each-way. |

JRA CHAIRMAN'S HANDICAP 2000m
Genuine pace headed by Future History from his wide draw. The Group 3 Chairman's Handicap, is another race where any horse could win, and for that reason we put JUST FINE (5) on top. He is at his best when in front, and in this field he can take up his favoured role without using up too much energy. A recent trial showed us that he is on target to find some good form again. NELLIE LEYLAX (8) ran a much better race for second on a heavy track at Eagle Farm 2 weeks ago, and the key to another good run will be the track conditions here. If it is wet, he can go one better. WALSH BAY (9) has been building up her fitness levels, and she will relish the extra 400m third up from a spell. Include in all combos. MIDDLE EARTH (2) Is a genuine black-type performer who was beaten 2 lengths into ninth the Hawkesbury Gold Cup. Key chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Just Fine at each-way value. |

LADBROKES DOOMBEN 10,000 1200m
Uncommon James and Zarastro possess good early speed. The feature if the day is the 1.5 million Doomben 10000 to be run over 1200m at Group 1 level. GRAFTERBURNERS (12) is the new kid on the block, and he resumed with a top effort for third in the G2 Arrowfield at Randwick 5 weeks ago, and he has been deliberately kept on the fresh side for this. Zac Purton is here for this ride, and that is enough for us to put him on top. PRIVATE HARRY (7) is the enigma of the field, and he has not been at his best since joining the Chris Waller stable. He doesn't want the track to be too wet, but if he can find something like his best, then he can definitely take this out. ZARASTRO (9) is a wonderful front-running performer, and he has had 3 trials to get ready for this, winning the last couple. Don't risk him. JIMMYSSTAR (1) is nearing his best again and looms as a major threat. SUGGESTED PLAY: Private Harry each-way for us. |

HKJC WORLD POOL ROUGH HABIT PLATE 2000m
Tambeloa should lead and dictate terms. The Rough Habit Plate at Group 3 level over 2000m will round up the day, and good luck if you are still alive in the quaddie. SOLID GOLD (16) is a brilliant NZ trained filly who has won her last 2 starts at Ellerslie, going from maiden success straight to a G3 win. She cops a wide gate, but she can still complete a hat-trick of wins here. PROVIDENCE (2) was ridden cold in the Frank Packer Plate at Randwick 4 weeks ago, and charged home into second, finishing less than a length from the winner. He can have the last say here. O'SHEAMUS (6) was also running on in the same race as the second pick, and he has been steadily improving with each run back from a spell. Zac Purton picks up the ride, and the pair merits healthy respect. ONE STEP CLOSER (1) was a game sixth in the G1 ATC Derby at Randwick 6 weeks ago, and the drop back to 2000m won't be a problem. Stick with him for all quaddie combos. ACCIDENTAL BID (8) saluted in a weaker race over 2000m at Pakenham last time out. Include, SUGGESTED PLAY: Solid Gold can win again. |
