Flyhalf should lead at a strong tempo. FLYHALF (8) has been a beaten short-priced favourite in all of her 4 starts to date, including her fresh up run here nearly 3 weeks ago. She is testing our patience, but she is worth one more chance in an even field. Follow your money. SILKY SHUBA (9) won a trial before finishing a game runner-up when resuming at Te Rapa a fortnight ago, despite being galloped on in the running. She strips fitter, and assuming that she never missed any vital work, then she can go one better. MANOLETE (5) is a stablemate of the top pick, who was also a beaten favourite when resuming from his spell. He only peaked late on his effort that day, and his first win is not far away. ARMAGH (4) raced too keenly here last time out, and he will be spot on third up with his fitness, and he can figure in the top 3 here. PURE LOTUS (2) strips fitter second up, and he will have the advantage of the pole position. Each way.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Flyhalf is overdue to win.
2 12:57 GOLF WAREHOUSE 2100m
Hakata Bay is likely to take charge and set a decent tempo. VOLUNTEER (7) stepped up to a middle distance for the first time at Te Rapa nearly a month ago and bounced back into some good form by finishing a sound third. The track was too firm for him prior, and with wet conditions, he will be competitive again. THE EXPONENT (4) charged late through the pack to finish runner-up by a neck here 4 weeks ago. He is strong enough now to cope with a middle distance, and he is nicely poised to go one better in this. WAR OF SUCCESSION (1) loves the track here, and he fought hard when finishing third as the favourite at Arawa Park just over 3 weeks ago. He has won here over this trip in the past, and he is peaking at the right time. Can win. UP THE ANTI (3) was beaten by half-a-length when finishing fifth at Te Rapa, following on from a tough Otaki win before that. He races well here, and he should be right in the finish again. CHARLBURY (10) has yet to really fire on this track, but she does prefer racing in a clockwise direction. Each way value.  SUGGESTED PLAY: War Of Succession each way.
3 01:33 CLOUDSOFT ACCOUNTING CHAMPAGNE STAKES 1600m
Only a small field with O'baby likely to find a comfortable lead. INCANDESCENT (2) has been holding his form in good company since winning on debut here in the spring. He was runner-up to the top pick last time out in the same race, and with the same weight to carry, he may have to settle for the same result. O'BABY (4) won a trial prior to scoring comfortably on debut at Woodville 17 days ago. She jumps up 500m into a field with more depth, but she has the pole position, and she is worth of plenty of respect. ROYCE (3) was less than 2 lengths off the top pick in the same race last start, and he has top 4 claims in the small field. GROCER'S GIRL (5) finished ahead of the fourth pick last time out, and she will continue to improve with more racing.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Incandescent can win this.
4 02:10 KINGMAKERS 'BECOME A PRINCIPAL OWNER' 1300m
Vegas Queen to take up the running at a moderate tempo. YALDI (5) has not won for some time, but he has been performing well all season in some very good fields. He has won on this track in the past, and he only needs a clear run at them to be hard to beat in this. DECEMBER (2) has plenty of talent, and he followed up his stakes placing at Trentham with a bold sixth here in the G3 Easter Handicap 4 weeks ago. He has won his only start over this trip, so dropping back 300m won't be a problem. Stick with him. Can win. POKURU GOLD (3) ran on well, and only peaked on his run late when finishing fourth here fresh up 4 weeks ago in a similar field to this. He has won 2 of his 3 starts on the course, and with the aid of a 2kg claim, he should be fighting out the finish this time. FROSTFAIR (4) overcame a wide draw when finishing a game third here last start. She gets a nice swing with her gate this time, and she is long overdue for another win. SUPER PHOTON (7) only needs some luck to be a big threat here. Each way value.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Yaldi deserves to win, and Super Photon can also win on his best day.

Plenty of speed from Biding My Time and Hot Card. KING'S ENGLISH (2) resumed with a run that is better than it reads on paper when finishing ninth in the G3 Breeders' Stakes at Te Rapa 3 weeks ago. Dropping back 100m should not be a concern, and if he can hold his spot in the early rush from the pole position, then he goes on top for us. ZIVOU (1) dropped back in class, and finished runner-up here nearly 3 weeks ago, and he faces a similar field here. He prefers the cut in the ground, and with the right run, he can go one better here. BULGARI (3) finished sixth fresh up in the same G3 field as the top pick, and his racing this season has mostly been in group company, where he has more than held his own. He strips fitter, and he would not be a shock winner. ARWEN (7) has shown plenty of talent in both of her starts to date. Don't risk her.  SUGGESTED PLAY: King's English can win this.
6 03:19 HALLMARK STUD 1100m
Grinzinger Moon and Perfect Dividends should set a strong clip. GRINZINGER MOON (7) made a winning NZ debut when winning here by a short-head 10 days ago. She showed an abundance of talent when racing in Australia, and her breeding suggests that her best has yet to come. A wet track is no problem, and she is set to repeat the dose, especially staying in the same grade. MISS BO PEEP (3) resumed with a gutsy win on a heavy track at Te Rapa nearly a month ago, and she is showing a stack of potential. This is not much harder, and with a 3kg claim, she will carry less weight. Stick with her. EGYPTIAN QUEEN (2) drops back in class from a couple of sound efforts in better company, most recently on this track, 4 weeks ago. She has some tricks, but she can finish top 4 in this. MIDORI GLORY (8) has a good draw, and he won't lack fitness. Include in all top 4 combos.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Grinzinger Moon can win again.
7 03:54 AL BASTI EQUIWORLD DUBAI 1300m
Cosmic Dream has good gate speed and can overcome the wide draw to lead. COSMIC DREAM (10) is a progressive filly who did a bit of work in the running fresh up and still managed to finish third at Te Rapa a fortnight ago. She cops another wide gate, but would only need some cover, to be the one to beat this time. ESTERNAY (7) tried hard, and just needed the run when peaking late, and battling into fifth at Te Rapa nearly a month ago. She has a superior gate this time, and will have no more fitness excuses third up from a spell. Each way. TO THE MAX (5) battled away gamely fresh up here 4 weeks ago when starting from a wide draw, finishing sixth. He has a better gate this time, and an extra 100m will do him no hard. His next win is not far away. HAKUSHU (2) is knocking on the door for an overdue win, and a 3kg claim with a good draw help.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Cosmic Dream to win, and Esternay at value.
8 04:29 HORIZON BY SKYCITY 1500m
Looks to be plenty of pace with Trafalgar and Inside Out battling for the lead. ORSON STONE (4) went huge fresh up off a wide gate at Te Rapa 3 weeks ago, and unfortunately he has copped another wide gate here. If he starts, then he will be hard to hold out. PUKANA (1) is progressing the right way with his form, and was just over a length from the winner when finishing third as the favourite at Te Rapa in the same race as the top pick. He maps to settle a tad close this time from the pole position, and he is ready to win again at short notice. INSIDE OUT (3) was a beaten favourite fresh up at Pukekohe just over 2 weeks ago when peaking on his run late. She strips fitter, and with Michael McNab in the saddle being a plus, he can improve sharply. Follow your money. LA QUERIDA (10) resumes from a spell, and she could be one to spice up any combinations.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Inside Out each way.
