GRIFFITH CITY VOLKSWAGON & NARRANDERA SIGNS MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
Plenty of first starters engaged which makes it tricky to map, but we can assume a solid tempo. JUSTBETRYIN' (2) showed far more resilience last start with a tongue tie on for the first time, battling on gamely for third in a busy finish over this trip at Wagga. Beautifully drawn and in a modest affair gets his chance to open the account. AIRFIELD (12) has not raced since a poor debut at Hawkesbury on 20 February. Trialled well prior to that so he probably has more to offer. Worth some thought despite a tricky gate. UYTAAHKOO (11) showed pace but tired late over today's journey at Wagga recently. Finds a much easier assignment this time and should give backers a sight. CHASING QUIVERS (6) was in the leading division and only felt the pinch close to home when returning after almost a year off the scene at Corowa recently. Gets the blinkers for the first time so she should be competitive again. Trust In A Gust debutant GIRLS GAMBIT (1) went okay in a recent Wangaratta jump-out. One to monitor for market support. SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Justbetryin'. |

NARRANDERA EX SERVICEMANS CLUB CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1000m
Plenty of pace from Montido, Meatloaf and Magna Mak vying for the lead, with a few others keeping them honest. LIGHTNING LIZARD (4) had been racing well until struggling on a heavy track at Albury last start. Comes back to his pet distance today on a firmer deck so a return to form is anticipated. MAGNA MAK (1) raced near the speed but her condition gave out when resuming for new trainer Wayne Carroll at Albury recently. Placed two from two when second-up so she can progress from that latest effort. Perennial placegetter SON OF ZORRO (3) added to his collection last start when an eye-catching second over this distance at Echuca. A must for exotics punters. Lightly raced mare SEANCE (2) is back from a long break for a new stable. Showed ability in her maiden campaign so keep her very safe. SUGGESTED PLAY: Lightning Lizard just gets the nod in a competitive race. |

MAWSON'S CONCRETE & QUARRIES CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 1600m
Moderate tempo with Red Paree leading the way and a few others keeping in touch. MONACO AWARD (4) comes back sharply in trip after a moderate effort over 2720m at Werribee last start. Placed two from four at the mile so in this easier race he is right in contention. THA MAESTRO (12) is back from a 266-day spell. Trialled most impressively for new trainer Ashleigh Smith at Wodonga recently. Capable of a strong run while fresh. ADASITI (1) will be fitter for a couple of runs since a spell and looks ready to show more. ICONIC ROSE (10) is up sharply in trip but is lightly raced and heading the right way. SUGGESTED PLAY: Monaco Award on top in a mediocre contest. |

NARRANDERA JEWELLERS & MOSES & SON MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400m
Expecting Redneck Woman to take up the running with Jingu Express and Saraya close at hand. JINGU EXPRESS (6) was racing well before a poor effort over 1600m at Seymour last start but there were excuses. Finds an easier maiden today and should be given the run of the race by Nick Heywood out of the inside stall. Perfectly placed to bounce back to form. DANTAINS PRIZE (8) is yet to fill a placing in seven career starts. Regardless, her 0.8 length fourth over today's distance at Albury was a strong effort and a repeat of that will put her deep into contention. TRIUMPHANT TONIC (2) hasn't been sighted in his two runs since coming back from a short spell. Fitter now and gets to his preferred trip so worth one more chance. SARAYA (4) has been racing handy but not maintaining the effort in shorter races of late. Might enjoy a bit less pressure today and can turn things around without surprising. The lightly raced FLYING BETTY (9) is back in her right grade today and is worth throwing in the exotics. SUGGESTED PLAY: Jingu Express to return to form and take this out. |

COMMUNITY BANK NARRANDERA BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1400m
Moderate pace from Alpine Rose taking it up with Flight Deck and Theo Five on her back. THE CUBAN (2) continues to race well without winning. Made up a stack of ground but missed by a long neck last start over 1209m at Echuca. Has a far better record this way of going and his best performances have come at seven furlongs. Perfectly placed to grab a well-deserved win. FREDDY'S SHOCK (6) has been giving away big starts in shorter races and struggling to get involved. Crying out for 1400m now and in an easier race he comes right into calculations. ALPINE ROSE (9) went through her gears nicely to get up for third when resuming over 1200m at Wagga Riverside recently. This looks an ideal second-up assignment. DEBOUT BELLE (12) has been easily accounted for in her two runs this prep. Not the most reliable conveyance but with race fitness now on her side a top four finish looks on the cards. THEO FIVE (3) strips fitter and is next best in a race with a long tail. SUGGESTED PLAY: The Cuban is the best bet on the card. |

COMMUNITY BANK NARRANDERA BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1400m
Strong tempo with Lunar Landing and Mystic Flame leading from Bobby's Secret and Surreal Winston. RIVERINA LIGHTNING (3) has won two of her last three, both over today's trip. Drove hard late to arrive in the nick of time last start in a BM52 at Echuca. Well in after the claim for Alice Kennedy so another victory is on the cards. BRASSI ROAD (6) stepped up to the mile last Saturday at Swan Hill and proved a shade too strong. Back in trip but also back in grade so on the seven-day back-up he looms as a serious threat. ONLY NEED ONE (7) has lost her way since a good second in a 1400m Dubbo BM58 three runs back. Draws a decent gate this time and can turn things around. CHAMPAGNE SHARON (4) caught the eye at the end of 1400m at Corowa recently. Hasn't won for 400 days but she is worth including in trifectas and first fours. GREATESTOFEASE (1) goes best at this trip and cannot be ruled out despite six weeks between runs. SUGGESTED PLAY: Riverina Lightning to win again. |

MURRUMBIDGEE PROPERTY AGENTS L W PEACOCK MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200m
Vonk and Monday Miss possess good early speed. SOO KISS ME (8) doesn't know how to run a bad race. Backs up seven days after flashing home to just miss over this distance at Swan Hill in a BM58. Has her share of weight but back in this grade she will be very tough to hold out. TEAM AMERICA (9) returned to the winner's list at Echuca last time out, thundering home from next to last on the bend to record a huge win. Lightly raced four-year-old who won't have it easy here with a big weight from a wide alley but he is too good to rule out. IMPENDING LOVE (12) has performed well at all four runs this time in work. At her best over today's journey so from a nice gate she looks sure to play a role in the finish. BLACK ADAM (1) is out of form but might surprise coming off a thirty-day freshen up in an easier race. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Soo Kiss Me. |
