NUM TIME COMMENT
1 01:22 GREAT NORTHERN Maiden Handicap 1400m
Without a recognised leader, Check One Two and Ange will likely set the pace. GRUMPYWANTSATISSUE (5) struggled on a heavy track on his debut and then did a little better second up. Is taking on the older horses here but that does tend to happen more regularly from now. SPIRIT TALKER (1) will be tough to beat if there is enough speed on. He has gotten beyond midfield each time and worked home. Could even want further. DIAMOND BLADE (2) has run a similar race each time. Should be thereabouts when it counts. SAK THE WRITER (3) comes up from NSW where the runs were just fair. Won't take much improvement though. CHECK ONE TWO (7) has some important gear changes. Watch for any moves.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Weak race but Spirit Talker could run over them.
2 01:57 TAB QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1100m
Tricky one to map with a large contingent of first starters but expect good early pressure. BUNGARRIBEE RAIN (6) has put two nice runs together. She has shown she can handle a track with a little bit of give. If she can be close enough in running from the draw, she can run home hard. OUR EAGLE ROCK (4) has the blinkers off for his first-up assignment. He ran pretty well in all those efforts. Back to a maiden seems very suitable. NEXT LEGACY (5) did a very good job at her first outing. She was big odds that afternoon so just has to show it was no fluke. MILK MAID (9) kicks back off after a decent enough debut. Had a positive trial since. GIAPPONESE (2) probably wants more ground so place is best.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Our Eagle Rock a good chance.
3 02:32 WELCOME RJC GOLD CLUB BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1100m
In the small field Henry's Blade or Street Glory should find the front. HENRY'S BLADE (2) is very easy to side with. He shows speed in his races and stepped up to this grade last time and won. Just has to hold his form with the increase in weight to go on the winning ways. CAPO STRADA (1) has raced in better races but struggled so has ended up here. He improved a good deal in a very similar event to this one. ZHUANG SHI (3) ran last first up but was under three lengths back. Gets a nice drop in the weights after the 3kg claim. STREET GLORY (7) will be up on the pace giving her best.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay on Henry's Blade until he loses.
4 03:08 ROCKY CUP CARNIVAL ON SALE NOW Class 1 Handicap 1050m
Good pace from Bee Two, Lucky Strong and Irish Rocket. BEE TWO (1) goes first up into this after a few good runs when last in work. He will use the draw to position right on the speed and we suspect this is the best distance for him. Market will tell a good tale. HEY JEALOUSY (5) could be one to pounce given she is race hard fit. Once heading to Queensland she has only run well. Still hard to beat but the barrier is a bit of a concern. IRISH ROCKET (4) did a fair job in a weak race a month back. Is coming back down in the weights a bit. LUCKY STRONG (3) has found his right form in recent outings. Can place again. CRIMSON DECIPHER (6) has to be a big watch in the betting. Trialled well too.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Bee Two is hard to beat. Crimson Decipher likely is value.
5 03:47 FRENCHVILLE SPORTS CLUB BENCHMARK 60 Handicap (QTIS bonuses applicable for 3,4&5YO's) 1200m
Strong tempo likely with several going forward, headed by Call Me Marilyn and Northumbria. OUTBACK BANDIT (12) runs again after continuing to progress throughout his last campaign. He probably wants the track to keep drying but hard to knock him. Gets a lovely run all the way from the gate too. PRETTY SLICK (1) should be ready to show her best now. She took on BM70 company three weeks ago and was a short distance back. JUKEBOX GLOW (6) is another resuming after running some decent races closer to Brisbane. Will be a big market watch for the new yard. BELLZEN (5) would love there to be a wetter track. He will run on well. CALL ME MARILYN (4) ran an excellent race in a tougher event last month.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Easy to back Outback Bandit.
6 04:23 TAB $20,000 TRAINERS BONUS BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1400m
Money Man and Native Bee have the pace to take up the running at a solid tempo. SPELLMASTER (13) goes up a furlong ad probably does need that. He is definitely bred to want that. Give him another chance. GRAECI (9) had her first attempt for the new yard and came from well back to place. Could very easily sharply improve. VICTORY'S GHOST (4) is ever consistent. The claim will give him a nice boost. Going forward might help. NEPTUNE LEGEND (8) has fought out the finish of the last couple. A longer race has to benefit.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Spellmaster on top.
