SKY RACING GUNSYND CLASSIC - GROUP 3 1600m
Just Feelin' Lucky to take charge ahead of Think Like Paddy at a good tempo. The $200,000 Group 3 Gunsynd Classic. EMIRATE (3) was a touch disappointing on face value in the Gold Coast Guineas when resuming but will have derived a bunch of benefit from that hit-out. Had been competing in much harder Group 1 and 2 contests when last in work and is worth another chance against this line-up. JUST PARTY (2) may have suffered from the dreaded second-up syndrome last time out but go on the close-up second in the Hawkesbury Guineas when first-up. Gets Rawiller back on from the inside alley and should be going very close. JUST FEELIN' LUCKY (9) has been racing consistently in lesser grade and has earned her shot at this level now. Top-three aspirations. PISCES (1) has been thereabouts at the past three efforts and looks one for the multiples. FLYING EMBERS (8) has won three of four this campaign and it's hard to knock fillies in form. In the mix. SUGGESTED PLAY: Emirate to bounce back. |

SEVEN THE WAYNE WILSON - LISTED 1600m
Genuine tempo with the speedy Attractable leading the way. The $160,000 Listed Wayne Wilson. DEMON DARB (11) couldn't have been more impressive saluting over this track and trip last time out and looks ready for the step-up in grade now. Looms as the main danger. Kiwi raider PIER (4) defied market expectations placing in the BRC Sprint at the latest outing and maps well from gate three. Has to be included in calculations. The well-named TENZING (6) has only missed a drum once in eight attempts over this course and distance and has been racing very consistently of late. In the mix. UNSPOKEN (1) has a handy first-up record and may run a big race while fresh. SUGGESTED PLAY: Demon Darb on top. |

XXXX BRISBANE CUP - GROUP 2 3200m
A solid tempo on the cards with Campaldino heading them off. The $400,000 Group 2 Brisbane Cup. The penny has dropped for CAMPALDINO (4) who has strung three wins together on the bounce including a strong victory here in the QEII Cup a fortnight ago. Has saluted on all going and should be able to sit up on speed for Clark from gate three. Sure to give backers a sight. ETNA ROSSO (3) has just run into one better at the past couple but gets the deadly Waller/McDonald combination here. Looks ready for the step-up in trip now. NIKAU SPUR (2) has a handy record around this circuit with two wins and four placings from eight attempts. Rawiller sticks in the saddle following the last-start placing and rates a genuine top-three contender on best form. It will pay to ignore the latest effort from DILLIAN (10) but go on the two solid wins to start the campaign. Worth another chance. MANZOICE (7) will appreciate the two-mile journey and may earn some minor money. SUGGESTED PLAY: Campaldino to continue the picket fence. |

SEN OXLADE STAKES - LISTED 1200m
Good pace from Impact Zone, Fabulantes and Prestar. The $160,000 Listed Oxlade Stakes. DAMIEN (4) broke the maiden status at Newcastle when resuming before not measuring up in the Clarendon at Hawkesbury two back. Put the writing on the wall for this with a strong Doomben win last time out and gets the services of Berry in the irons. Looks ready for this level now. The form of QUIETLY ARROGANT (1) tapered off at the end of his first preparation but he had been plying his trade in much tougher Group races. Revved up for this with a dominant Randwick trial win and gets J Mac on from a favourable draw. Has a bit of class over these. PRESTAR (9) broke the maiden status by over four lengths when resuming and is sure to have derived a stack of confidence from that victory. Cannot be discounted. BRAVE DESIGN (3) is still a maiden but has been right there in all four starts to date and is drawn to get a gun run in transit from the inside marble. In the mix. ISTI STAR (10) has won her past two and shouldn't be slept on. SUGGESTED PLAY: Boxed Trifecta 4,1,9,3. |

DRINKWISE HINKLER HANDICAP - LISTED 1200m
Plenty of pace likely from Prince Of Boom, Manhood and I Am Artie battling for the lead from King Kapa. The $160,000 Listed Hinkler Handicap. The well-related NEED SOME LUCK (7) (half to 6xG1 winner Chautauqua) is yet to miss the top-two in eight attempts over this six-furlong journey and doesn't know how to put in a poor one. Has a great association with Tommy Berry and looks to be well-placed in this line-up. Can continue the rich vein of form. MANHOOD (6) loves this track and trip with three wins and four placings from just nine starts and will be high on confidence following that last-start Doomben victory. No reason why he cannot salute again. KING KAPA (1) is a four-time winner here on his home surface and is usually thereabouts. Top-three commodity on best form. COMPELLING TRUTH (4) grows a leg for rider Wheeler who has three wins from as many steers. Can bounce right back to form. I AM UNSTOPPABLE (3) strips fitter second-up from the spell and draws the inside alley. One for the multiples. SUGGESTED PLAY: Need Some Luck to return to the winners' stall. |

LADBROKES J.J. ATKINS - GROUP 1 1600m
Plenty of pressure with Zoutanium, Meet George and Farnicle leading the charge. The $1 million Group 1 J.J. Atkins. COOL ARCHIE (1) has come back a different animal stringing four consecutive wins together this campaign with Harley being on board for all four victories. The step-up to the mile journey looks ideal and can add a valuable G1 win to his CV. HIDDEN ACHIEVEMENT (8) brings NSW formlines to the table and gets the reliable Waller/McDonald combination. Blinkers go on and looks a top hope. GRAFTERBURNERS (2) strips fitter third-up from the spell and gets Williams on board from a favourable draw. Capable of a big performance. FARNICLE (3) should be able to sit up on speed for Clark and will give backers a sight for a long way. The well-related NAVY PILOT (10) (full to 2xG2 winner Tiz Invincible) rounds out the selections in a competitive edition of the two-year-old feature. SUGGESTED PLAY: Cool Archie to continue the hot streak. |

MAGIC MILLIONS DANE RIPPER STAKES - GROUP 2 1300m
Not much early pressure but Russian Alliance, Tashi and Konasana can take up forward spots. The $300,000 Group 2 Dane Ripper. FIRESTORM (4) resumes here but the form she showed when last in work was good enough to play a major role in a race like this. Tuned up for this with two recent trials and has won four of five when fresh. Is one from one over this distance range and a strong first-up showing would not surprise. Stablemate OLENTIA (3) is a bit of a hit or miss commodity but is certainly capable on her day. Maps well from gate three and is one from one around this circuit. Shapes as a leading contender. Former Victorian FLOOZIE (11) has gone bang bang bang since joining the new stable and it's hard to knock mares in form. Can continue the winning streak. TASHI (12) is yet to miss a quinella spot in three attempts over this trip and is usually about the money. A must for the multiples. Winx's little half-sister CITY OF LIGHTS (5) draws the inside marble and may make her presence felt. SUGGESTED PLAY: Firestorm to return a winner. |

THE STAR STRADBROKE HANDICAP - GROUP 1 1400m
Good pace from The Instructor, Front Page and Rise At Dawn. The time-honoured $3 million Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap. WAR MACHINE (7) has been super impressive in all three runs since joining the Hayes barn and looks to be on an upward trajectory. Has won three from four over this seven-furlong journey and only needs some luck slotting in from the widish draw to be right there at the business end. GOLDEN MILE (6) looked the winner at one stage in the Kingsford Smith Cup last weekend and seems to be back to a semblance of form. Maps perfectly from gate two and another strong performance is on the cards. RISE AT DAWN (13) will be better for that first-up hit-out and is another to draw favourably. Top-three prospects on best efforts. THE INFLICTOR (16) has been racing well in lesser company and has earned his shot at this grade now. Can fill the frame with any luck in running. The old boy ROTHFIRE (2) showed he still had some life in his legs last time out and gets McDonald on to navigate from the sticky draw. Next in line. SUGGESTED PLAY: War Machine to get the Group 1. |

HKJC WORLD POOL Q22 - GROUP 2 2200m
Bankers Choice and Bois D'argent to battle for the leading role. The $1.2 million Group 2 Q22. FAWKNER PARK (1) has been knocking on the door of another victory with back-to-back runner-up finishes and will be happy there are no Antinos in this line-up. Is one from one over this course and distance and this is the easiest race he has struck in quite some time. Deserves to break through. MILITARIZE (3) made up some ground in the Doomben Cup and gets McDonald on board from the inside alley. Expected to measure up this time. NEW ENDEAVOUR (5) got a well-deserved victory in the Lord Mayor's Cup at the latest effort and can go right on with the job now with confidence high. KOVALICA (4) has won three from four here The Farm and is improving with racing this campaign. In the mix. BOIS D'ARGENT (2) has placed over this course and distance and may earn some minor money again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Fawkner Park to go one better. |
