NUM TIME COMMENT
1 11:55 Sportsbet Jockey Watch Handicap 1000m
Many of these step out for the first time so a genuine tempo is expected. Wide open two-year-old-race. DEMARCATE (1) looks as likely as any off a strong debut win at Ballarat, winning in solid time off a good run. Open to plenty of improvement and the wide draw won't be an issue over this circuit. HELLO ROMEO (2) resumes. He was last seen running midfield in the Karaka Millions which is a good race in New Zealand. His form in Australia was rock solid and he's won a trial leading in. Must respect. OCEANSPRINT (3) won well on debut at Ballarat, leading throughout to score decisively. Should take catching again. DERIVATIVE (8) resumes having been hard in the market in a good race on debut at Eagle Farm, pulling up with post-race issues. Wary. HOT WHISKERS (9) beat a small field on debut at Mornington before a spell and wouldn't surprise at big odds.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Demarcate & Hello Romeo.
2 12:25 Evergreen Turf Handicap 1300m
Reasonable tempo with Betwitchery probably leading but a few others should keep her honest. TERILEE (5) is a promising filly who looks well placed here. She had no luck at all behind a very smart one in Madiyya two back before finding the line strongly behind Ahha Ahha who had a much better run here last time out. Drawn better this time around, she can make amends. LEGACY BAY (8) has placed in both runs back from a spell, beaten half a length at Sandown Lakeside last time out. Ready to fire now and sets up beautifully from the gate. BLACKBERRY BOMB (1) struggled last time but did beat Ahha Ahha prior which ties in nicely. Should take catching. MARBLE POINT (4) has upside and could measure up.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Terilee to win.
3 01:00 Quayclean Handicap 1400m
Plenty of pace from Whateley, Zorro's Flight and Supernima primarily. The form of AHHA AHHA (8) will hopefully have received a boost in the previous race and she looks the one to beat again. The jockey used the good gate last time to sit handy to a strong speed and she relished the test, coming right away to score by three lengths. Bit more depth here but she drops sharply in weight and should map nicely from the low draw. JUST FOR SHOW (2) was a bit disappointing last start at Caulfield but did have a gap between runs there and should be fitter getting to 1400m. Can improve. WHATELEY (6) has won two in a row, doing it dominantly at Cranbourne last time out. Can measure right up. HOT DIGITY BOOM (4) ran a strong race at Flemington last time out in a similar class of race. Should be thereabouts once more. YALDI (1) is racing consistently and an each way chance.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Ahha Ahha to win.
4 01:35 Sportsbet Fast Form Handicap 1400m
Solid tempo with several going forward headed by Van Roy. Tricky race. DIRTY GRIN (3) is in great form of late, winning three from six this campaign and never finishing worse than third. Flew home to miss by the barest of margins over 1200m at Caulfield, giving the indication he'd be ready for the rise to this trip now. Maps nicely, should go close. STYLISH (16) won well fresh before having no luck whatsoever at Caulfield last time out, badly held up. Forgive that, she can atone. IMPENDING LINK (19) is racing consistently, well backed here last time over 1500m and just missing in a narrow finish. Tricky draw but should be competitive again. BOLTSAVER (18) has placed in all three runs this time in, the past two on wet ground. If the track has give in it again he can break through. EMPRESSIVE ENUFF (5) is the only horse in the field coming off a win and he could go on with it.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Dirty Grin to win.
5 02:10 Tobin Brothers Celebrating Lives Handicap 1600m
Strong tempo with Pariah Pearl, Extreme Virtue and Eloped leading the way. EXTREME VIRTUE (2) on top in an open race. Two runs back this time in have been very good, only run down very late by TRIAL BY PRESS (3) last start at Caulfield over 1400m. Extreme Virtue meets Trial By Press better at the weights now and was much shorter in the market on that occasion. She's proven over further so getting to 1600m third up looks ideal. No knock on Trial By Press who looks underrated in early markets again. PARIAH PEARL (1) faded out of it at Caulfield last time out having beaten Changing Colours prior which is solid form for this level. Her 1600m record is good and she can bounce back. SUANCES (11) also beat Changing Colours recently with a big win from well back in the field. Should prove very hard to hold out once more. CINEMATIC STAR (15) is going well this time in and looks a solid each way hope.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Extreme Virtue to win.
6 02:45 Ray Porter's 90th Celebration Classic 1600m
Amberite, Chakado and Karburan to take up the running at a decent tempo. ROADCONE (5) is in rare form and looks the one to beat again. He was dominant at Pakenham two back and went right on with it here last start, ridden aggressively by Luke Cartwright to put a margin on his rivals which he never looked like relinquishing. Similar tactics will surely be adopted here and he may just run them into the ground once more. AZTEC STATE (3) can run a good race while fresh. The 1600m is an ideal kick off point fro him having been good over 1400m first up last time in. He certainly has the class to be figuring. HIYAAM PROUD (6) was a bit disappointing fresh in Sydney on wet ground but should strip much fitter for that and her form around Oh Too Good last preparation reads very well. NATION'S CALL (7) should be ready to fire now third up off two even runs. CHAKADO (9) is flying and hard to knock.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Roadcone to win.
7 03:25 Sportsbet More Places Handicap 1800m
Looks a keen contest with Tempesti and Earlswood pressing for the lead with Lavish Thinker and Sayedaty Sadaty close at hand. Open race with plenty of closely intertwining form. SAYEDATY SADATY (10) was beaten by SABAN (8) over this route first up but did more than enough there off a break, only beaten half a length. This is a horse who started $14 in a G1 Caulfield Cup just three runs ago, and with the added fitness he could well turn the tables. Saban had the best turn of foot there off a slow speed but may well find a similar race shape here and prove too good again. No knock on DUBLIN JOURNAL (9) who was given a good ride to score at Caulfield last time out. Dry ground seems to be the key to him. FORGOT YOU (2) and TEMPESTI (3) both come through the Saban race. Forgot You should be ready to peak now and his best would go close while Tempesti was good there and should improve.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Sayedaty Sadaty & Saban.
8 04:05 Thoroughbred Club of Australia Handicap 1000m
Hot pace certain with Chinqui, Manolo Bling and Katsu keen to take up the running. MANOLO BLING (13) is a handy filly who looks well placed against the older horses here. She won nicely fresh at Bendigo before tackling the G3 John Hawkes Stakes in Adelaide, starting $3 and finishing 2.75 lengths off some smart types. No issue back to 1000m, she's very speedy and should go close. CHINQUI (12) also comes back in trip which looks to suit. 1200m was perhaps just a bridge too far last time but she still stuck on very well and she should take plenty of catching now. HARRY GOT STYLES (6) did beat Chinqui here by a length recently so must have claims. His form is all at this trip and he should get a nice run. RED HOT NICC (2) resumes. First up last campaign he was good in a Quality Handicap at Moonee Valley behind a speedy one and that's solid form for this. ALONG THE RIVER (11) won well fresh with a big weight and has claims.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Manolo Bling to win.
9 04:35 Sportsbet Race Replays Handicap 1400m
Strong tempo likely with several going forward, headed by Military Expert and Edison. HUGHES (12) is in flying form at the moment, notching up his third win of the campaign last start with a comfortably strong victory over this route last start. Gets in light and looks more than capable of measuring up. RUNNING BY (5) wasn't beaten far fresh at Flemington and is much better suited at this trip. On her day she's well up to this. THE OPEN (15) hasn't been able to crack a win this time in but is going well and a senior jockey on here is something he could be looking for. LIM'S KOSCIUSZKO (1) can progress off the fresh placing.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Hughes on top.
