NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:34 TOOWOOMBA TRUCK SPARES BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1300m
Bauhinia Rock and Bean Dancing possess good early speed and will set a genuine tempo. CHINCHILLA AHEAD (9) resumed here this grade, beaten 0.5L. He will give away a start again but has a senior hoop aboard today. He has more to give and has won 2/2 second-up. Stablemate ARCHER'S GAME (2) has a 2kg claim and is seeking the hat-trick freshened. Has been kept up to the mark with a trial and is back in grade. A live chance. BAUHINIA ROCK (3) peaks and is busting to win. Has a 3kg claimer aboard today, and that brings him right into it. ELLA TE AMA (1) won this grade by a space over a mile, quickly back on track. Has to drop back to a sprint, but keeps the handy 2kg claim and will be fitter again. RINGER'S REWARD (10) resumes and has the ability. May find this a touch short, but he draws low and is worth a look.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Chinchilla Ahead.
2 01:04 WHOLESALE HORSEWEAR HOUSE Maiden Handicap 1625m
Just a moderate pace anticipated. PROCLAIMER (4) brings two placed efforts with the latest here over this distance. Full fit now, and he's the one to beat. ROTHWEILER (6) was back to his best at Ipswich on a heavy track. He's just as effective on dryer, and over a longer trip deserves another chance. LIPSTICK LIES (9) has a soft draw and will find this an easier challenge than Doomben. His form prior would see her in the finish. AOOM'S CHOICE (2) topped his best Victorian figure, placing this track/trip. He will be better for it and is in the mix. SUNSHINE SALLY (7) gets in light with the 3kg claim, but needs to put her best foot forward.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Proclaimer.
3 01:39 SHEPPARD EARTHMOVING QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1100m
Expecting Miss Leana to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint trip. MISS LEANA (10) resumes and raced favourite here last time on debut, beaten 2.3L. She won a recent Warwick trial easily and will be naturally improved. Has found the right race to kick off. KRUMAC (1) resumed with a near miss and then found the grade and heavy track too much of a challenge at the Sunshine Coast. Finally draws inside and will be fitter. Tough to beat. STIKTODASCRYPT (3) resumes and also owns a nice trial win. He went close at Ipswich on debut and will have come on. Has an outside barrier and that's the niggle. TWO MINDS (4) draws low and debuts for a sharp yard without a trial. The betting will be key. SHEZA BARBAROSSA (12) has the rail and resumes with a trial under the saddle. Needs to find a bit more, but will have come on.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Miss Leana.
4 02:12 RDO EQUIPMENT Class 3 Handicap 1000m
Small field but plenty of pace engaged, including I Am Caviar, My Name Is and Got Gumption. I AM CAVIAR (3) resumes for the top metro barn and owns a comfortable Doomben trial win. He's placed 2/4 in decent company, and the 2kg claimer will steer from an inside gate. Rates clear at best and looks ready to go. DRANG A TANG (5) was plain here first-up, well supported (vet cleared). He was only beaten 2L at Doomben two back, and that reads well. May need a bit longer, but he's worth another chance. MOOD KILLER (7) just missed here in a touch easier and is in the mix. MY NAME IS (2) goes well at this longer distance and is unbeaten when third-up so can peak.  SUGGESTED PLAY: I Am Caviar appeals.
5 02:47 SELECTED SEEDS Maiden Plate 1000m
Genuine tempo with the speedy Capiana leading the way. WARILLA GORILLA (3) resumes and has switched from a top Sydney stable. He has placed fresh and has competed well in much stronger than this. He has a handy 3kg claim and will push forward. His recent trial placing at Warwick suggests he's on song. The betting will be key. LUCKY MAN (7) draws even wider, but he brings a 1L defeat here first-up, and he can build on that briefly freshened. RED TOFFEE (2) raced favourite in the same contest but settled a long way back and didn't get into it. He has trialled since (as required) and has two key gear additions. He impressed first-up at Ipswich and deserves another chance. MHASAHN (9) went well enough at Moree to suggest he'll be around the mark. CAPIANA (5) is in the top metro stable and is likely to show more third-up. Keep an eye on the market.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Warilla Gorilla if the betting suggests stable confidence.
6 03:27 THE MCGREGOR BROTHERS Class 1 Handicap 1200m
Solid tempo likely with Horsburgh, Media Gem and Dubious Six prominent. ULUWATU (1) looked a run short here first up and then jumped a short-priced favourite and missed a whisker. She maps for a soft on-pace run and has been kept on the fresh side. In a top local barn and she's ready to win. DUBIOUS SIX (4) was quickly on track for the new stable, leading and winning a Maiden here by 3L. Keeps the 2kg claim and will likely skip over from the wider gate. He's improved and can form the quinella. PACIFIC PIRATE (6) spiked her numbers narrowly beaten at Gatton in a 58. She's changed stable on a 46-day return and has weight relief. She is worth a look back to a shorter sprint. HORSBURGH (2) led but faded out of it here 7 days ago, beaten a mile (vet cleared). He was narrowly beaten first-up and will use the inside gate. Can go a lot better. WANTSOMEMOREOFIT (5) peaks and is going well enough to consider.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Uluwatu.
7 04:07 LAWRENCE & HANSON BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1890m
Solid tempo with Swiper leading from Martini Dancer and Maurita. Tricky. MALECON (2) went back to back here, and then 70 grade proved too much of a challenge at Ipswich. Better suited here and over the shorter trip. The 2kg claim is handy, and she can bounce with average luck from an outside barrier. SWIFT SON (8) didn't manage the wide gate at the Sunshine Coast in stronger, but had been racing well here prior. A much better effort is anticipated. WHATADILEMMA (6) likely had an excuse at Dalby but he had threatened the two prior this track/trip. Needs luck from the wide gate, but he's capable of making the finish. SHOUTS ALL DAY (7) steps up to this trip for the first time, and her effort at Warwick two back over 1500m suggests she might manage it. Look for her late. KNEZE (1) improved here last time and will push forward on a quick backup. The 3kg claim brings him into it.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Malecon.
