Global Turf Maiden Plate 1000m
Expecting a strong gallop with Night Flash and Evil Lover taking up the running over More Give It. NIGHT FLASH (11) looks well placed second up off a nice return at Cranbourne when sticking on for third in what looks a stronger maiden. Second up last campaign he was tested and hardly disgraced in the Geelong Diamond. Should take plenty of catching here. NEXT STEP IOWA (8) is a filly by Brazen Beau on debut for the Matt Laurie yard who has been jumping out fairly for her first outing. Must respect a good stable, watch the betting. EVIL LOVER (4) resumes having been racing fairly well last time in. Sets up nicely from the good gate and can figure. GAMADALE CURLY (5) was much better at Swan Hill last time and could sneak into the minors again at big odds. SUGGESTED PLAY: Night Flash to win. |

Manhari Maiden Plate 1200m
Pace looks sure to be genuine with Mercurial Lady and Renege matching motors, closely followed by Dynasty Reward. MERCURIAL LADY (11) resumes, bringing the clearly strongest form last time in. Two runs to date have netted two minor placings in stronger maidens at Geelong & Sale behind horses who have gone on to a much higher level in town. She's won a couple of jumpouts and should land in a prominent spot from the inside gate. Really should be winning. BELLA GISELLA (7) resumes having run fifth on debut at Beaumont Newcastle. She's been given time and can be an improver for the top barn. RENEGE (4) is knocking on the door and should have a fitness edge on some rivals. DYNASTY REWARD (3) is coming along okay and just needs to settle to run out the 1200m to be in this for a long way. SUGGESTED PLAY: Mercurial Lady to win. |

Ian Reasons 70th Birthday Maiden Plate 1200m
Cracking tempo with Flux and Timely Tom leading the way. TELL US TOLL (12) should be ready to fire getting to 1200m third up. The return at Ballarat was good before perhaps being unsuited staying at 1000m last time when struggling to make inroads. Fitter again now and should take beating. MOAKSUN (5) is knocking on the door with three minor placings this preparation, not far away at Pakenham last time out. Steps to 1200m for the first time but only needs to hold his form to be right there. RUNCHICKENRUN (9) put in a better effort at Geelong when last seen, finding the line well to grab second. Improving sort who will be hard to hold out late. FLUX (2) is a 15-start maiden who hasn't been all that far away this time in. The run two back when second at Horsham has him firmly in the mix. SHIMAZY (10) is a lightly raced 6yo mare in her first campaign who wouldn't shock. SUGGESTED PLAY: Tell Us Toll to win. |

The Haymarket Maiden Plate 2100m
Solid pace on the cards with Flying Shelby and Girlpower who like to get rolling early. MRS HARRIS (11) steps up to 2100m at just her third race start but is coming along nicely, having found the line well at Bendigo over 1500m last time out. Slight query at the trip but the McEvoy stable certainly know what they're doing, especially on this track. Has upside and should take beating. DRAW ATTENTION (7) looks one who will relish the rise to 2100m. She's a filly by The Autumn Sun who hit the line nicely at Geelong last time out to finish second over 1760m. Tough draw but should be flying late. TRIORA (12) improved sharply second up off a poor fresh run, still well beaten by the winner at Horsham but holding down second. Have to respect now. VIBRANIUM (6) was well beaten on debut at Ararat but can be a quick improver up in trip while BATTLE POINT (1) has place claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: Mrs Harris to win. |

Porter Plant BM58 Handicap 1400m
Lady Prancelot has the pace to lead in what is likely to be a moderate tempo. SHE MOGUL (2) was beaten 6.5 lengths fresh at Seymour but did make some ground to finish fourth and should strip much fitter here. She's a well-bred type who finds a very winnable race here and with the added fitness she should prove hard to hold out. ALBANIAN STAR (5) doesn't win out of turn but was close up at Echuca last start and has run well on this surface. She should get a nice trail from the inside gate and if the gaps come she'll go close. PURE RAIN (4) is stuck on the 1 win from 19 starts but wasn't bad at Werribee when last seen and has claims off that. LADY PRANCELOT (1) is one with upside but did really struggle first up at Hamilton, finishing 11th. She can bounce back without surprising. RADSTAR (3) wouldn't shock while fresh. SUGGESTED PLAY: She Mogul to win. |

Hygain Winners Choice BM70 Handicap 1500m
Estrapaz should find the front with Arden Green and Winning Toast on his heels. WINNING TOAST (10) is hard to ignore off a huge 5.5 length maiden win over this course and distance last start, powering away to score as the $1.50 favourite. Quickly up in grade is the query but if he can repeat last start he'll go close again. ROADIE (7) doesn't have the best form on paper however did hit the line from an impossible position at Ballarat last time out in a good BM64. She won her only go on this surface and is up to this class. MONTJEUIFY (2) brings winning form off a sound victory at Geelong over 1325m when last seen 35 days ago. He's won on a synthetic track before and should set up well from the soft gate. CAPULET (5) resumes and isn't without claims on her home deck. SUGGESTED PLAY: Winning Toast on top. |

Sportsbet Jockey Watch BM70 Handicap 1200m
Lim's Bighorn and Eugenius possess good early speed. EUGENIUS (4) resumes. He was racing well last time in against some better company, and his 1200m record is strong. Should land in a good spot from the draw and go close from there. LAYERUPONLAYER (3) struggled fresh at Bendigo in a good race behind Stylish. He's a sparingly raced 6yo who can turn things around quickly. TOOMPINE (7) is going well of late, winning two back at Geelong before working home well to just miss at Ballarat on the turf last time. He's unproven at 1200m but is going well enough to figure. STRIKE GOLD (2) is a former Singaporean horse who was a narrow winner at short odds over this route last time out. Can go right on with it now. SUGGESTED PLAY: Eugenius on top. |

Hygain Winners Choice BM58 Handicap 1000m
In Love is the likely leader at a keen tempo. A few key chances have come out after scratchings which leaves the resuming OMAHA DAWN (7) on top. She didn't fire in two runs last time in but is lightly raced and in the right hands. It's worth noting she won her maiden dominantly on debut by three lengths at this track. She's won a jumpout and may relish getting back to the synthetic here. IN LOVE (9) struggled on heavy going in a stronger race at Morphettville Parks last time out but had been good prior at Murray Bridge and this should suit better. SONTAY (11) hasn't been firing of late but hasn't been all that far away and does have a good record on this track which is key. Can bounce back off a freshen up. EL PIBE DE ORO (3) resumes and has a bit of upside and any market support is worth keeping an eye on. SUGGESTED PLAY: Omaha Dawn to win. |
