Only a moderate tempo with no recognised leaders engaged. KANAZAWA (8) broke through for a win last start when second up from a spell, scoring by a neck over 1200m at Eagle Farm. Has a strong record at the third run in with two wins and a placing from four attempts so can go on with it. AT WITZ END (9) put the writing on the wall two back and got the job done by 3.5 lengths in open company over 1175m at Grafton last time. Tackling a deeper field but owns a good record at this track and trip. EAGLEMONT (1) was racing well before the spell, scoring over 1615m at this course two back. Proven fresh so has claims off a solid trial. THE DROVER (10) turned things around last start and got the job done by 1.2 lengths over 1400m at Eagle Farm. Draws well so is in the mix along with ARENTEE (2) who may appreciate the return to this venue. SUGGESTED PLAY: Kanazawa to back up the last-start win.
