Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Proofreader. BELLAGIO HARUKA (11) did a great job to score by a nose over this course and distance last start to maintain her good form of late. Nicely placed to keep the ball rolling. NISHINO MIGNONNE (2) has been safely held at her last two starts, the latest when tenth over 1400m at Chukyo. Does enjoy some weight relief this time. Expecting a far better run at this level. SMALT (9) resumes from a spell of three-and-a-half months. Has filled a minor placing at both first-up runs. Opened last prep with a second over 1400m at Himeji. Will be thereabouts. WISPY SNOW (10) hasn't featured at her last two runs, the latest when finishing seventh at Sapporo Dirt. Can improve back at this level.
