OWL WITNESS (8) fitter now after two runs back and will find this more to his liking after making ground late when ninth over this track and trip behind Short Shorts in the Provincial CQ on March 9. Sure to be strong late. KHUMBILA (6) has returned much stronger this prep and was rewarded for his consistency when a slick on-pace maiden winner over the 1300m here at the latest. This is much tougher but gets map favours from the gate. THE CRIMSON IDOL (9) tough old mare retaining her zest for racing. Has a strong record at this track and distance and can give plenty of cheek from the draw. EYEQUE (4) resuming from a four-and-a-half-month break. Showed ability last time in and since fitted with two sound trials. Blinkers come off and maps to get the right run. SUGGESTED PLAY: Owl Witness to win.
