Was within range at Doomben his last three and has a strong record this trip. Proven fresh and draws for a soft run. DEVIL'S RITE (11) led and made sharp improvement when beaten 2L here over 1000m in Open grade. Peaks for this and would only have to hold that form to be in the finish. COPPER STAR (8) spiked his figures easily winning a Toowoomba Maiden. Peaks now and draws well again. Has to be considered. SUTHERLAND (2) wasn't too far away here in stronger before leading at Eagle Farm and folding up at monster odds. Better suited and maps well. In the mix.
