Solid tempo with several going forward headed by Fitzroy Boy. EXTREME MERGER (8) adopted the new role of leader last start and put his rivals away with ease in a BM58 over 1280m at Muswellbrook. Showed his versatility by coming from well back to score here at this trip three runs back. Hard to go past on that form. Queensland visitor HILL BILLY FLYER (5) made it three minor placings in a row when he led only to be ambushed late over 1300m at Toowoomba last Saturday. Will race handy from the good draw and is right in contention. ZOFFANY'S GAZE (2) returns from a 27-week spell. Gun fresh performer who is yet to miss the top three in four first-up outings. In the mix despite a wide gate and 61.5kgs. MYSTERY LAD (3) might be a surprise packet fresh from a six-week let-up. STENSON WALLMAN (4) just missed at Tamworth at this stage last prep so expect more from him today. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Extreme Merger.
