Loads of early pressure, primarily from Shamrock Bay, Thinking Of Gerty and Grand Larceny. CHARMED RUN (3) resumes from a short break. She was last seen running second in a BM84 to A Little Deep, who has been in excellent form at Group level recently. The 955m trip is the query which can be a battle of early speed but if she's close enough in the run, she'll be very hard to hold out. FISSION (2) is always a threat in these races. He was beaten a head in a slightly stronger heat on Cox Plate eve and only has to run up to that to be winning. THINKING OF GERTY (8) is a promising mare who has won 2/3 to date. More depth here but is on the up. GRAND LARCENY (11) resumes. He's lightly raced and has shown good short-course ability in four runs to date. Can win. BRITISH ANGEL (1) may want a touch further but has the class. SUGGESTED PLAY: Charmed Run to win.
