Strange Magic, Cool Winter and Lily Of The Nile to battle for the early lead at a slick tempo. MASKED VIGILANTE (6) has good consistent form lines to his credit. He set the pace over 1400m on the turf last time and fought hard all the way to the line. He is the stable elect with Richard Fourie aboard and can notch up his fifth-career victory. EYJAFJALLAJOKULL (5) moved up like a winner over 1400m last time but was outrun late. With a bit of luck from the widest draw of nine he should prove hard to beat. STRANGE MAGIC (1) is better than her last two starts would suggest. She was reported to be not striding out last time. She drops in class and is well worthy considering. LILY OF THE NILE (3) stayed on well when third of seven over 1200m on the turf last time. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. From her good draw of three she should give the males a decent run for their money.
