Strong pace from Marine Merchant, From The Hip and Rare Earth. RARE EARTH (8) ran a fair race when fifth of 12 over 1500m on this course last time. She over raced but stayed on well at the finish. She is having her third run this prep and should be cherry-ripe. If switching off early over the extra 200m, she can win a race of this nature. RED STATE (5) has fair recent form lines to her name. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will like the rise to 1700m. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride, and she should be fighting out the finish. NOT WANTED (7) showed some improvement on his debut run when resuming from a spell last start and finishing fifth at long odds over 1950m on this course. He will strip a much fitter horse and has each-way claims. FORT IMPREZA (4) took on winners over 1950m on this course last time. He is having his peak run and back in maiden grade with Muzi Yeni retaining the ride, he may have more improvement to come.
