Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Kosta. URENUI (2) chased home a runaway winner at Trentham last start, and he faces an even smaller field this time. He is peaking at the right time, and he is good enough to take this out. BELARDO BOY (1) will find this easier than the Opunake Cup last week, and stepping back out to a mile on this course will suit him. He has a good draw, and will be tough to hold out in this. KNOCK OFF (5) has been back to the trials since finishing well back in Stakes grade at Whanganui 8 weeks ago. He has won his only start here and would not be a surprise winner. KOSTA (6) was very disappointing at Waverley 3 weeks ago, but he will be suited to the small field, and he can bounce straight back into the money here. BENEFACTOR (4) was not too bad in the Opunake Cup, and she will find this race more to her liking. Stick with her. SUGGESTED PLAY: Urenui to win.
