A solid tempo from Shotgun Willie, Elegant Act and Buzz Bomb all kicking up to take advantage of their low draws. SILENT TRIGGER (7) finished last of 10 last start but it's best to forget that run as he raced very wide around the turn. His effort when finishing second of 14 over this course and distance three runs back catches the eye. It is encouraging that S'manga Khumalo is booked to ride and with luck in the running he should be figuring in the finish. BUZZ BOMB (3) cost himself at the start last time out. He will like the rise in distance and with Richard Fourie in the saddle should return to form. SHOTGUN WILLIE (1) proved too strong when scoring two runs back at Greyville but disappointed last time out when finishing 10th over 1600m at this track. Has each-way claims. PONGOLA (11) has placed in two of his last three starts and should be included in exotic bets.
