WAGGA PAINT DISTRIBUTORS BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP 1000m

Track: GOOD 4   Clear (Max: 29)   Rail: Out 6m 1400m-W/Post, True Remainder.

No recognised leader to cart them along so a modest pace is in store. FREE STATE (2) made a mess of them first up at Goulburn but found it a bit too tough last start when tackling the Camarena at Canberra on their feature day. This is much easier. Expecting a sharp bounce back. SHOOTING FOR STARS (5) hasn't caused the winner any threats in her last two but was a determined winner three back in this grade. Willing to forgive with the benefit of a low draw and Billy Owen engaged. KING OF THE BOUNTY (4) returns and usually goes well fresh. Steps back out over a preferred trip and shouldn't have to spend a penny from the barrier. Right in this. BACKWATER TRADER (6) resumes and is next best. SUGGESTED PLAY: Free State gets the nod.
