Strong pace with Meisho Taisetsu and Koln Concert driving across from their wide draws. PAGEANT (1) made progress last time out, finishing second at the end of 1400m at this track. Needs to be at his best to beat this field but he has the ability to mix it with them. MARUKA RAPID (3) was an impressive winner last time over 1400m at Kanazawa, leading throughout and putting 6 lengths on her rivals. Expected to take some stopping again. EIGHT WAN (5) is a genuine type with two minor placings from three starts this prep. Was handy all the way and finished 1.5 lengths from the winner in second last start over 2000m at this track. Needs to be at his best to beat this field but he is up to the challenge. MEISHO TAISETSU (11) was easily accounted for when fourth last start over 2000m here after a good first-up win at this track. Finds a suitable race and can figure in the finish.
