Consistent performer last prep whose most recent appearance resulted in a third over 1230m at this track. Ideally placed to score while fresh. SMART MACE (4) went forward when resuming last start and proved too strong over 820m at this track. Should enjoy a good run just off the speed. Goes up a rung or two but he is good enough to take this out. LUX RAMPAGE (6) has not appeared since he finished second at this track on July 3. One to consider. HIMETSURUICHIMONJI (1) had been racing well with three placings on end before finishing fourth last start over 1600m at Kasamatsu. Returns to the course where she finished third two runs back. Record here is impressive with six wins from 17 starts. Deserves respect.
