Moderate tempo headed by Perfect Ruler. HIGHLAND JEUNEY (7) landed midfield and closed off strongly over 1300m fresh, beaten just 0.3L in a strong performance. Staples replaces the apprentice hoop and she'll be better for the first-up effort. Can improve with that run under her belt and can go one better now. PERFECT RULER (1) jumped favourite first-up and comes through the same race as Highland Jeuney where he felt the pinch late. Blinkers go on now for the first time and he's sure to be much fitter now. Can land in a handy position and bounce back to his best. MIDSUMMER ROMANCE (8) closed off well in that same race, beaten 0.7L when first-up without a trial. She's expected to be better over further, though she was very strong late on resumption. Can feature in the finish once again. SOLASH MOON (12) can improve out in trip now and with no weight on her bag. SHE'SATROOPER (6) is better than she showed last time out and can feature first-up for the new stable. SUGGESTED PLAY: Highland Jeuney makes plenty of appeal.
