No recognised leader which leaves it to Giant Leap and Gimme Five to set the tempo. CHATEAUNEUF (2) showed enough in his debut campaign. He was disappointing at Sha Tin when beaten 4.8L in July, though his run prior over this course and distance holds him in good stead. He's trialled well coming in and Purton takes the ride. Open to plenty of improvement with the blinkers going on and he looks the one to beat. GIANT LEAP (3) ended last campaign with an all-the-way win over this track and trip as favourite, winning by 1.8L. He's won a trial coming in today and he maps to find the front once again. Can take up the running and prove hard to run down. HAPPY DAY (1) hasn't raced since May, but will be fitter for three trials coming into today. He drops back into C4 today and Vincent Ho sticks with the gelding after partnering him in his most recent trial. Expect a turnaround in his form. PERFECT GENERAL (5) showed enough on debut at Sha Tin and out to this trip looks to suit. Can make an impression on resumption.
