With no recognised leader engaged it might be left to American Kestrel to control the tempo. AFTER THE ONE (4) has had plenty of chances but put the writing on the wall last start when she closed well after a slow beginning to get up for second over this distance at Wagga. Not a huge amount of depth to this field so she deserves top billing. SPACE ACADEMY (3) raced handy but didn't find a lot in the run home when resuming over 1200m at Goulburn last time out. Gets to this trip for the first time which should see the best of this lightly raced four-year-old. AMERICAN KESTREL (5) has been disappointing since a narrow defeat as $2.50 favourite over this journey at Narrandera three runs back. Big chance if she brings her best form here. Prized Icon first starter DOC MARCH (1) looked okay at the trials and is worth monitoring for market support. MAJESTIC DEEL (8) hasn't set the world on fire yet but is open to improvement. SUGGESTED PLAY: After The One to win.
