BATEMANS BAY, MORUYA AND NAROOMA FUNERALS MAIDEN PLATE 1010m
Prairie Legend and Reveillon possess good early speed. SILVERWATER KID (5) produced a fair effort on debut when sixth over 1200m at Kembla Grange in a Super Maiden. Worth following up from the low draw. HUNTER ONE (8) resumes. Disappointed on when tenth over 1300m at Kembla Grange. Back without a trial and finds a very thin Maiden. REVEILLON (6) resumes. Ran some solid minor placings when last in work and trained on the track. Sat on the speed when third over 1400m at the Sapphire Coast in a Super Maiden on February 1. Won't find this as tough and likely to play a leading role. FIELDS UNITE (7) is a filly by Unite And Conquer out of Fields Of Freedom on debut for the Lynda Bundy yard. Struggled in two trial in town last year. Worth thought at this level. SUGGESTED PLAY: Silverwater Kid gets his chance from the low draw. |

MONARCH HOTEL / MOTEL MORUYA CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 1650m
Only a small field with Gunfighter Road likely to find a comfortable lead. OL' MATE COOP (8) expected to get off the mark here after finishing in the minor money at his last three starts. Went forward in the soft (7) going with a close-up head second over 1400m at Kembla Grange. Finds a suitable assignment and can get the job done. GUNFIGHTER ROAD (4) was ridden positively and led throughout to score over 1400m at Nowra in Maiden grade last time out. Positive ride expected again and is right in this. SPLENDID MAGNUS (6) was in the money two starts back at Cowra but couldn't back it up last time when seventh over 1400m at Albury. Finds a suitable assignment and can find winning form. ENDLESS APPLAUSE (5) next best. SUGGESTED PLAY: Ol' Mate Coop finds his race. |

HARCOURTS BATEMANS BAY CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1010m
Not a great deal of pressure likely in the small field, with Blanc De Noir a potential leader. CUBAN RAIN (3) deep into the campaign and drops sharply in trip for this. Shuffled back early and failed to get through the soft going with a fading seventh over 1400m at Kembla Grange. Has the class to take this out with a good tempo anticipated. PEWTER PEARL (2) capable filly who looks well placed in this company. In need of the run first-up with a battling fifth over 1000m at Kembla Grange. Anywhere near her best would be winning this. WINNIE FORTUNE (5) resumes from a lengthy break on her home track. Came to the end of her prep when fourth over 1200m at the Sapphire Coast last July. Back without a trial and has a good fresh record. CURLY BEND (6) mare resuming without a trial. Has placed previously first up from a break and will appreciate the weight drop today from the good draw. SUGGESTED PLAY: Cuban Rain and Pewter Pearl can fight it out. |

CAMERONS H HARDWARE BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200m
Only a small field with Zeema likely to find a comfortable lead. ZEEMA (5) doesn't win out of turn but ran a strong race last time out when second over 950m at Cowra. Well placed and is sure to take a ton of beating. SELHURST PARK (3) never looked likely when getting too far back first-up at Goulburn. Is sure to have come on from that and will appreciate stepping out the additional 100m. Watch for sharp improvement. KARUTA KING (6) returns. Doesn't boast a strong fresh record but posses a good turn of foot on his day, so if he's close enough at the turn he can round them up. PROPHET TIME (4) has been well below his best of late. The rise in trip could unlock him. SUGGESTED PLAY: Zeema to win. |

BATEMANS BAY SOLDIERS CLUB MAIDEN PLATE 1300m
The race lacks early speed so doubt they will go too hard. LA BELLA ROSA (10) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start when she got a long way back to finish seventh over 1400m at Kembla Grange. Tackles a more suitable race this time and perfectly placed to score. LINDOS (11) finished out of the money two starts back then was ran fourth over 1400m at Kembla Grange two weeks back after being in the firing line on the corner. Has the class to figure prominently. MR USHER (1) resumes. Went back from the outside draw with a battling tenth over 1600m at Kembla Grange. Has ability and goes into the calculations fresh. ZOUFECTION (6) was out of the money on debut two runs back then again missed the frame last start when last over 1200m at the Sapphire Coast in a Super Maiden. Fitter now in a weaker contest. SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 10,11,1. |

NAROOMA GOLF CLUB BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1425m
Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Robran. DARKEN (2) was below his best last time out when eighth over 1600m at Albury. Back in trip with the claim and has solid winning claims. AMPLE TIME (6) snagged back early and chipped away late with an even sixth over 1600m at Wagga. Kept fresh and will prove hard to hold out over this trip. BOUND TO FIRE (4) is yet to make any real impression since resuming but jumps back in trip off a 46-day freshen and is open to sharp improvement. Don't dismiss. GO GAZZA (7) backs up quickly after doing his best work late five days ago at the Sapphire Coast. Will appreciate the added trip and is one to watch for late. SUGGESTED PLAY: Darken to win. |
