Should be a strong tempo with Popeye The Sailor and Little Brother the ones to roll forward. MISSPOKE (3) was a Pakenham winner four runs back and subsequent efforts have been sound for a race like this. Shapes as though the distance will suit. Cannot be left out of calculations. ZED OR ALIVE (4) led them up over 2400m in town last time but did a lot wrong. Is far better placed back at this trip and despite the draw is expected to make a bold bid. HEAVEN FORBID (5) won her maiden in town two runs back and has backed that performance up with two recent solid efforts. This is not a strong affair and a forward showing is expected. DUNDANCER (9) strips fitter for three runs this campaign and is facing a drop in grade. Expect her to make a bold bid. SUGGESTED PLAY: Back Misspoke and Zed Or Alive to win. |

Sticks on well and despite the draw should go close here. GLENS TOP CAT (4) found winning form with a strong on-pace win at Bairnsdale last time. Rises slightly in weight but is fit and in form. Should make a bold bid. CALVI (3) is fit after recent good performances over jumps and is worth including in the hopes. SUGGESTED PLAY: Back Entitled Princess to win. |

Looks nicely off here and a forward showing is expected. TAKASHIMA (4) was a debut winner at Swan Hill last year before a break. Two runs this campaign have been full of merit and he looks well placed in this company. Won't be too far away. CRACKHORN (1) has performed well in both runs this campaign against tougher opposition than he meets here. Gets on home track here and is sure to make a bold bid. COOL HEART (8) has featured in the placings in four of her past five starts. Looks well-placed in this company and is expected to give this a shake. ZILZIE LAD (2) is working up to a win after filling a place in past two starts at Pakenham. Drops in grade this time and is expected to run well. ZASCEED (5) was placed two starts back at Bendigo before just battling at Kyneton last time. This looks a better assignment and he can bounce back.
