NUM TIME COMMENT
1 11:51 West Side Horsham Maiden Plate 1100m
Only a moderate early tempo with no recognised leaders taking part. Tricky. AMERICAN KESTREL (3) comes out of the same race and ran out of condition late. Had been well trialled and will be improved. Has a handy gate and can feature. NINE OF HEARTS (14) resumes and go on the near miss at Swan Hill on debut when she led. Has been away for a while but draws low and no surprise if she's forward. WANTED IN A GUST (11) is third-up and has plenty up the sleeve. Can't be ruled out.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with American Kestrel.
2 12:26 Cellarbrations Horsham Maiden Plate 1400m
A genuine tempo is expected with a big field engaged. GOLDEN MIKKI (2) raced a short-priced favourite on debut and looked a run short. The money came again at Ararat following and he was narrowly beaten. Draws handy and Yendall sticks aboard. On an 8-day return and can go one better. Stablemate HOUSE OF PRADAH (9) resumes and has the best figures. Just missed here three back on debut over this distance and kept improving. Feared. KOUSSEVITZKY (5) raced well at Ararat on debut well supported. Is back after 21 days and with the extra fitness can get into the finish. PRIDE OF PROISIR (7) resumes off a low gate with 21% course-striker Rawiller booked. Has to be kept safe.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Golden Mikki.
3 01:01 bet365 Maiden Plate 1800m
Moderate pace only with Wokou leading. WOKOU (13) peaks and spiked her figures beaten 1L at Bairnsdale. Maps for a soft run and deserves to break through. ITALIANO (2) resumes and is up to this if presented on song. Has switched from a NSW barn and has trialled up. Will race over further but is in good hands and Brad Rawiller is positive jockey engagement. WET 'N' DRY (7) was in the market first up over a mile but dropped out and had a slow recovery. Has had 21 days to get over that and has a low gate today and a senior rider. The extra metes suit and he can be around the mark. DECLARED INNOCENT (1) is third-up and can show more in this line-up.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Wokou.
4 01:36 Elders Horsham Handicap 1800m
Off the low draw Feargal is likely to find the lead at a slick tempo. FEARGAL (2) has been narrowly beaten his last two and this trip holds no fears. He will control the race from an inside barrier and finds the right race. LOOKING SUAVE (7) is hard to catch but will be fitter and will likely appreciate to shorter journey. Good enough at best and could surprise. MAUNARENTE (5) resumes and has placed over a mile fresh. Meech will position her forward and she's capable of running well.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Feargal.
5 02:11 Manhari Metals Handicap 1800m
Strong early pace expected with Strong Lady and Ambusher pushing up to set the tempo from their low draws. DAY IN HEAVEN (6) spiked her figures winning comfortably at Seymour this grade over 1600m. Expect the extra metres to suit and she can repeat the dose. RIPPA BUDDY (4) led and beat the above home in that contest and is also improved. Will make his own luck and is also a chance. MIGHT JUST HAPPEN (8) is knocking on the door and maps for a soft run. In the mix.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Sticking with Day In Heaven.
6 02:46 Dallas Rintoule Memorial Handicap 1100m
Cracking early tempo with James The Great leading the way. Competitive. BUBBLE PALACE (5) was back on track placing at Cranbourne and then went back there and didn't finish it off. Finds easier grade grade and has been kept on the fresh side. Draws handier and fitter again should go close. TEQUILA STORM (8) has been within range all preparation including twice in town. Meech will have her on the pace and she gets another chance. SMART RETURN (9) won the Maiden here comfortably and is an improved galloper. Has a 2kg claim and maps for the run of the race. She could take the next step without surprise. DEMON BLOOD (4) improved again winning the 58 at Seymour and he's also going well enough to feature.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Bubble Palace.
7 03:21 CHS Group Handicap 1200m
Plenty of early pace with Final Atom and Wild Canary to vie for the lead, pressured by Broadway Lane. BROADWAY LANE (8) was strong first-up at Balaklava and should have come on from that effort. The tongue tie goes on for the first time and Jarrad Fry replaces the apprentice hoop having won twice when riding. Can be prominent in the run and should take beating. FINAL ATOM (1) has been solid throughout this campaign, finishing just 1.6L off the winner over 1106 at Ararat last time out. He too is likely to be up front in the run and is sure to make his presence felt. WILD CANARY (7) should be at his peak now third-up and coming back in trip looks ideal. Can play a major role.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Broadway Lane on top.
8 04:00 Traction Ag Handicap 1400m
The speedy duo Run And Tell and Take The Prize can set the pace from the outset. TAKE THE PRIZE (10) brings a string of placings and there was only a whisker in it here last time over this distance. She will push over and ride the speed and has her chance in this lineup. RUN AND TELL (3) brings strong form from Gawler across the border. He's a leader and doubt returning to a sprint will bother him. The 2kg claim is handy. SUPREME THUNDER (8) is knocking on the door and is a hope. He can settle more forward today.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Sticking with Take The Prize
