NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:30 CLASS 5 1000m
LONHRO GOLD (11) lines up on the back of a 1.5 length fourth four weeks ago over 1000m at this track as favourite. Veteran who should be cherry ripe after three runs back from a spell. Leading contender. JULY (3) was too good for a maiden field last start over 1200m on turf, scoring by 1.5 lengths. Getting better with racing and there is no reason he cannot get the job done again. CHEVAL MAGNIFIQUE (6) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1200m at this track, beaten 4 lengths into fifth after being in the firing line on the turn. Sound each-way hope. OUR SECRET WEAPON (5) was in the betting but just battled away to finish fifth last start over 1000m at this track, beaten 2.75 lengths. Likely improver with strong top-three prospects.
2 01:00 RESTRICTED MAIDEN 1200m
TOMMY GUN (1) is a three-year-old gelding who is having his first run for the Fitzsimmons barn since coming from Australia. Hasn't raced since finishing in the placings at Ballarat five months ago. Trialled well since arriving. Leading prospect. LUCKY GOAL (2) went forward and gave a great sight before finishing second last time out over 1100m on the all-weather. Likely improver with strong prospects. CHEVAL PEGASUS (12) is a gelding by Flying Artie out of Second Date who is at the races for the first time today. Placed in a recent trial. Looks set for a bright start. LUCKY WARRIOR (9) is back from a 28 day freshen-up following a third on the all-weather last time. Has the speed to be prominent from the outset. Don't underestimate.
3 01:30 CLASS 5 1000m
DIAMOND RING (2) was prominent at the bend but disappointed in the run home over 1100m at this track last time out. That followed a good third the run prior over today's trip. Boasts a fine record at 1000m so expect him to bounce back. RIVER DRAGON (6) is still a maiden after 18 runs. Finished fourth at his last appearance over 1000m at this track on April 27 after he got a long way back in the run. This offers him a great chance of breaking through. GOLDEN WAY (4) missed the placings two starts back then ran a better race and finished 0.9 lengths away in fourth last time out over 1100m at this track after being prominent at the corner. Strong prospects from a favourable draw. VGOR (1) was unplaced two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1400m on turf, beaten 3 lengths into seventh. Worth another chance on a seven-day turnaround.
4 02:00 CLASS 4 1600m
LONGEVITY (8) was a determined winner two back then raced on the speed last time before finishing third over 1400m on turf. Far more effective on this surface and should return to winning form. BLUE IDOL (7) did little in the run home and finished 4.5 lengths from the winner in fifth over 1600m on turf last start, a less impressive effort than his fourth at this track the run before. In the money 9/15 at the mile so deserves another chance. STAR NORTH (4) settled well back last start and never threatened when 6 lengths from the winner in 11th over 1400m on turf. Placed here at this trip two runs ago. Likely improver with strong prospects. MESMERIZING (2) battled on evenly for sixth last start over 1400m on turf, beaten 3.5 lengths. Better off at the mile so watch for a better performance.
5 02:30 CLASS 5 1200m
BUURAQ SIXTY-ONE (1) missed the placings two runs back in a Class 4 then improved last start with a drop in grade but found a couple better over 1200m on the all-weather, beaten 2.25 lengths. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot find winning ways. GUN (2) finished 3 lengths from the winner in seventh last start over 1200m at this track, an improvement on his 12th at this track the run before. Has the talent to figure prominently in this easier race. STARBOY (4) missed the placings two runs back then was never in contention last start when 8 lengths away in 12th over 1200m on the all-weather. Drops back from a Class 4 and has the ability to take care of this field. BENBO (5) finished sixth two runs back then did well last start but found one better over 1200m on the all-weather, beaten only 1.75 lengths. Best figures measure up. Sure to run well.
6 03:00 CLASS 5 1600m
BIG DAY (6) gets out over more ground today on the back of some solid form of late, the most recent effort a third over 1400m on turf. Should be prominent again with the help of the inside alley. TIGAROUS (2) has been thereabouts lately without being able to break through, the latest effort a third on turf over 2000m. Drawn to enjoy a nice trail just off the pace. Leading contender. RAGING RABBIT (1) gave away a big start at the top of the straight last start and finished a distant 13th over 1600m on turf. Just missed the run prior on this surface. Looks to be in the right race to play a big role. TWO MILLION (3) hit the frame two starts ago at this track but ran below par last time when sixth and beaten 4.5 lengths over 1700m at this track. Suitably placed so anticipating a better run this time.
7 03:30 CLASS 4 1200m
COOL SIXTY-ONE (1) has been in the placings at his last two starts, finishing second last time when he was handy all the way over 1200m at this track. Finds a suitable race and can play a major role. OTAHUHU (11) is in top form, landing two consecutive wins before a last-start second over 1200m on the all-weather. Hard to fault and from the inside alley he is clearly the biggest threat. PACIFIC ATLANTIC (2) finished third last start over 1200m at this track, beaten 1.4 lengths, at the second run back from a spell. Strips fitter so expect a forward showing. CHARMINTON (9) turned in a better run last start, beaten 1.5 lengths into fourth over 1200m at this track. Slowly putting it together. Wide gate the only concern.
8 04:00 CLASS 5 1600m
KINABALU LIGHT (4) came from well back on the bend and hit the line strongly to score over 1700m at this track last time out, his second success from the past three outings. Expected to be in the finish again. KHAO MANEE (7) hasn't been far away lately, last time out finishing just 2.75 lengths back in fourth over 1700m at this track. Form over this course and distance is solid with a win and four minor placings from seven starts. Among the leading chances. PACIFIC SPIRIT (2) improved sharply on his ninth two starts back at this track with a win over 1700m here three weeks ago, getting home by a nose. Can figure in the finish. FORTUNE STAR (11) progressed nicely last time out to finish just a head from the winner in second over 1700m at this track. No surprise to see him in the mix.
9 04:30 CLASS 2 1600m
MAKIN (3) is in sparkling form scoring at his last three starts, the latest win coming over 1600m at this track in a Class 2. Goes up in the weights but he only needs to put in a similar performance to be winning again. CAVALRY (4) finished out of the money but was not too far away when resuming last start over 1600m at this track. Races well when second-up. Solid top-three chance. Group 3 winner JANUARY (5) is an honest type who impressed last time, scoring by 2.25 lengths over 1400m at this track. Has the pace to be in a prominent position from the outset. Capable of playing a big role. Group 1 placegetter ISTATABA (6) ran fifth at her latest appearance over 1600m at this track, finishing 2 lengths from the winner. Has definite claims on her best form.
10 05:00 CLASS 4 1000m
BRANSOM (1) last appeared four weeks ago over 1000m at this track when he finished second after looking the winner until the dying stages. This is his first run for the Peters stable. Bright prospects. SURREY HILLS (3) looks close to a win, the latest effort a strong second, beaten a neck, over 1100m at this track. Should camp just off the leaders. Leading contender. SG SIXTY-ONE (6) missed the placings two starts back then ran a better race and finished 1.5 lengths away in fifth last time out over 1000m at this track after being in the firing line on the corner. Best figures measure up nicely. FILIAL DRAGON (4) finished 4 lengths away in sixth last start over 1100m at this track in a disappointing performance. Better than that and can bounce back.
