NUM TIME COMMENT
1 11:20 ST JOHNS PARK BOWLING CLUB 2YO CLARENDON STAKES 1400m
Genuine pace with Commanding Artist finding the front but it won't be a picnic with a few other speedy types engaged. TRAFALGAR SQUARE (2) hard fit now after creating a big impression when showing a good turn of foot to shoot clear for a slick 2.75 len win over 1250m at Canterbury on April 17. Should get the right tempo with cover from the sticky draw to go close again. CANARA (9) will be fitter after two runs back and finally draws a gate today. Covered ground from the outside draw when fifth over 1250m at Canterbury. Racing like this trip will suit and should race closer. INTERJECTION (3) having his third race start after sticking on well when third over 1400m at Kembla Grange on April 20. Blinkers go on and expected to take a hand in the finish. MEDIA WORLD (4) well-bred colt who was given every chance from the inside gate when second over 1400m at Kembla Grange. At his top now and no excuses here.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Trafalgar Square to win.
2 11:55 MIDWAY HANDICAP 1500m
Plenty of pace likely from Danish Prince who can take up the running from Jamberoo. VICTORY LANE (2) total forgive at latest when snagged back from the outside gate to finish last of 15 in the Provincial Championships Final over 1400m at Randwick on April 13. Two earlier runs were full of merit and no shock to see him bounce back to winning form. PUTT FOR DOUGH (6) was rewarded for his consistency with a tough 1.3 len win over 1400m at Randwick in Midway company on April 20. Trained on the track and should handle the rise in weight from the good draw. CALLISTEMON (14) gets in light with the claim and placed over this trip last time in. Has won two of her three starts this prep and looks up to this grade. Must be kept safe. DANISH PRINCE (4) ran well at Wellington last start after a good effort in this grade at Rosehill prior. Can get into the finish.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 2,6,14.
3 12:30 TAB HIGHWAY HANDICAP 1500m
The pace looks moderate in the absence of on-pace runners. TOKYO RUN (6) progressive gelding racing in a rich vein of form. Massive class drop when a commanding winner over 1700m at Wellington in easier grade on April 12. Back in trip and watch for him late from the sticky gate. GENTILESCHI (9) promising filly who deserves her shot here after winning again when demolishing her rivals over 1400m at Scone on April 16. Looks up to the rise in class and worth noting J Mac takes the ride. BANDASHA (2) handy Shalaa gelding from the Dunn yard sent south after finishing a close-up second over 1350m at Doomben on April 17. Fourth-up for this and gets his chance from the good gate. ZELGARIA (7) wasn't far away at Doomben last time out and can be about the finish if he runs up to that level today.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 6,9,2.
4 01:05 BLAKES MARINE BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP 1800m
Strong pace from Father's Day and O'ziggy matching motors with Humanity close at hand. Group 2 placegetter NOISY BOY (2) is a talented gelding who failed to handle the heavy (8) conditions when eighth in the G1 ATC Australian Derby over 2400m at Randwick on April 6. Will find this more to his liking with the claim and go on the Tulloch placing when assessing his chances. KUREDER (3) much better performance second-up when charged through the line late with the 59.5kg to secure second over 1550m at Canterbury on April 17. Will keep improving as he gets out in trip and is expected to play a leading role here. CASUAL CONNECTION (10) racing well without winning and mixing his distances up of late. Sat on the speed when a gritty third over 2400m at Randwick Kensington on April 25. Placed this track and trip and gets all the map favours. TOESONTHENOSE (1) surprised at big odds second-up when charged late to finish third over 1550m at Canterbury on April 17. Gets weight relief again with the claim and has a tidy record at this track.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 2,3,10,1.
5 01:40 HAWKESBURY XXXX GOLD RUSH 1100m
No place for the faint-hearted with Much Much Better coming out fast. Multiple Group 3 winner PARISAL (4) comes here off a break of four-and-a-half months. Undefeated over this trip and also has sound first-up stats. Has looked strong in both her trials and looks a major player from the inside gate today. XTRAVAGANT STAR (13) fourth-up today after heading north when an effortless winner over 1110m at Doomben in BM78 company on April 13. This is much tougher but she's always shown ability. Has solid each-way claims. Group 3 winner SPACEWALK (1) resumes with a good fresh record. Fitted with two solid trials and watch for him swooping late. EAGLE NEST (10) wasn't beaten far over this trip at Rosehill last start and has claims.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 4,13,1.
6 02:15 PIONEER SERVICES HAWKESBURY CROWN 1300m
Expecting Short Shorts to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint trip. SHADOWS OF LOVE (5) tough mare racing in career-best form. Sat on the speed and showed plenty of tenacity when third over 1400m in the Provincial Championships Final at Randwick on April 13. Strips fitter now and the front bar plates come off. Go close. Multiple Group 2 placegetter WILLINGA BEAST (13) struck plenty of trouble in the run when an unlucky seventh in the Provincial Championships Final at Randwick. Will need a good ride from the draw but has the figures to play a leading role. Group 3 placegetter RAZETA (4) is hard fit for this and comes right into calculations if the rain arrives. Undefeated on a heavy track and can race closer here. Group 2 placegetter MISS HELLFIRE (6) improved sharply second-up when a gritty third over 1200m in the G2 Sapphire Stks at Randwick on April 13. Drawn to stalk the speed and expected to take a hand in the finish again.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 5,13,4,6.
7 02:50 WORKERS CLUB GROUP HAWKESBURY GUINEAS 1400m
Butch Cassidy and Schwarz can be prominent from the outset. SCHWARZ (1) has a sense of timing third-up for this over his pet trip. Just failed to sprint with them late when a close-up sixth in the G2 Arrowfield 3YO Sprint over 1200m at Randwick on April 13. Drawn to stalk the speed and will prove hard to stop. Group 3 placegetter BUTCH CASSIDY (4) has needed the two runs back and indicated he was near his top when fourth over 1400m in the LR South Pacific Classic at Randwick on April 13. Will hold a forward position and no surprise to see him take this out. Multiple Group 3 placegetter FRENCH ENDEAVOUR (14) is hard fit and maps to get the right run. Trapped off the track when a wilting eighth over 1400m in the G3 James Carr at Randwick on April 20. Go on previous runs when assessing her chances. KONASANA (7) relished the heavy conditions and extra trip when a dominant 3.5 len winner in the G3 James Carr over 1400m at Randwick on April 20. Sure to be thereabouts again.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 1,4,14,7.
8 03:30 RICHMOND CLUB HAWKESBURY GOLD CUP 1600m
Attractable to set a strong early tempo joined by New Endeavour pushing on from an outside draw. Group 1 placegetter DETONATOR JACK (1) warmed up late when an eye-catching sixth over 1600m in the G1 Doncaster Mile at Randwick. Third-up record is strong and should be able to race closer. Looks hard to beat. Multiple Group 2 placegetter JUST FOLK (6) indicated a win was imminent after sitting on the speed with the 60kg when a narrow third over 1600m in the LR Golden Mile at Bendigo on April 13. Gets his chance with Rawiller engaged. Group 3 winner WELWAL (11) returns from a 35-day let-up and will need some McDonald magic from the sticky gate. Strong through the line when third in the G3 Doncaster Prel over 1500m at Rosehill on March 30. Races best fresh and has genuine claims. BERKSHIRE SHADOW (3) wasn't disgraced in the Doncaster last time out and this appears a much easier race on paper. Sticky draw but he looks ready to peak now.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 1,6,11.
9 04:05 THE LAWN SHED BENCHMARK 88 HANDICAP 1400m
Strong tempo from the outset with Kibou and Rise Of The Masses leading the charge. FALL FOR CINDY (17) sound return with the 58.5kg when motored late to finish third over 1400m at Warwick Farm on April 1. Drops sharply in weight with the claim and is undefeated second-up. Go close. HIGHLIGHTS (10) back in grade when a determined winner over 1500m at Rosehill on April 27. Backs up quickly and gets map favours from the good gate. Group 3 winner RISE OF THE MASSES (13) is returning from a lengthy spell. Has a sound fresh record and fitted with two recent trials. Will go forward and give plenty of cheek. EXCELLADUS (6) is a three-time winner first up and can be right in the finish.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Fall For Cindy.
10 04:45 CLARENDON TAVERN BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP 1100m
Slick pace with Rocketeer Girl finding the front but it won't be a picnic with a few other speedy types engaged. PIONEER RIVER (5) classy gelding resuming from a six-month spell. Gets the right race set-up today with the fast tempo anticipated and has since been fitted with two solid trials. Looks great value at his current quote and no surprise to see him finish over the top of these. SMASHING EAGLE (7) is another who will relish the good tempo today after rattling late from last on the turn when fifth over 1100m at Canterbury when resuming on April 17. Has solid top-three claims. CHILLI FILLY (11) progressive filly resuming. Has the two wins from four starts and expected to handle the sharp rise in grade here. Fitted with two trials and drawn to stalk the solid tempo. VALIANCY (12) handy mare who resumes after going quickly through her grades last time in. Has a solid fresh record and two recent trials were full of merit.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Box Quinella 5,7,11,12.
