Palace Princess should spear straight to the front of the small field. IFFIDIDIT (3) is a handy gelding on his day, and his first couple of starts this season have resulted in a pair of third-place finishes. He has been freshened since his last run at Timaru, and he is good enough to take this out. SAY SATONO (2) made the most of a genuine tempo at Cromwell last month and boomed home to score by over a length. She likes this track, and despite a 4.5kg weight rise, she can repeat the dose. OCEAN LIGHT (1) is a very versatile gelding who has been freshened up since a last start second over 2000m at Riccarton nearly 7 weeks ago. The obvious query is the drop back to 1400m, but he can't be ruled out of winning this. ROYAL VALOUR (4) just battled fresh up at Cromwell last month, and does usually improve quickly with racing. If he doesn't need this run as well, then he can figure in the top three. VICTORIAN CHARM (5) was in good form over the winter, and resumes with a pair of Ashburton trial wins under his belt. Don't risk him, especially on a wet track. SUGGESTED PLAY: Iffididit can win in a very competitive field.
