GOING: S(6)

MCKEOWN PETROLEUM 1800m

Track: SOFT 5     True

Solid tempo likely from Living In Hope and The Matador. ENTERPRISE GEM (5) has not had all the luck since winning by a nose on the poly track at Riccarton in September. She has been freshened since her last run for ninth over 2600m on the turf there nearly 7 weeks ago, and could take this out at a big price. MIRAQUA (6) is back in the South Island after a poor run at Trentham 10 days ago over 1400m. The extra 400m here holds the key, and with Tina Comignaghi in the saddle for the first time this season, a form reversal can be expected. Each-way value. SINCERE (2) will be peaking third up after hitting the line strongly for fourth at Cromwell a month ago. He can have the last say in this modest field. LIPPY (1) battled on late for seventh on the poly track at Riccarton just over 3 weeks ago, and the extra furlong here will suit him. Include in all combinations. LIVING IN HOPE (9) failed to cop the heavy track at Gore 9 days ago, and he could be the early leader here with the step up to 1800m. Expect something better this time. Each-way. SUGGESTED PLAY: Miraqua can win this, and Living In Hope for some value.
