BALLARAT SYNTHETIC   11 Aug 2025

GOING: G

Hygain Winners Choice BM64 Handicap 1200m

Track: Synthetic     Rail: True Entire Circuit.

Maximum Power should spear straight to the front of the small field. What began as a very even race, the scratchings of some of the main rivals paves the way for SPIRITED DEFENCE (2) to bring up another win. Hard to fault the honesty with a string of strong runs lately and has two wins and a minor from three tries here at home over the trip. John Allen goes back aboard, having partnered for two of the recent wins and off the inside is clearly the one to beat. GIRLCANCHAT (8) was fourth on debut then got off the mark here last time. Has good upside and although this is tougher does drop a fraction in the weights. This is the home course and could measure up again. BONS TO RICHES (5) has been in the minors the last three and is overdue. First try here but has placed all three on the synthetic at Pakenham. Just missed there last time from a wide gate but off a better draw no surprise to see him go close again. MAXIMUM POWER (3) is a lightly-raced five-year-old fitter for two trials and has won fresh. Expected to give a sight. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay with Spirited Defence.
