Just a moderate tempo given the absence of pacy gallopers. To say MOAKSUN (1) is overdue is an understatement. Has 13 starts to his name for nine minors, including placing 4/5 at the trip and only try here. Looks well placed and gets his chance. MELODIA PERFECTA (8) resumed from a long spell with a solid on speed placing on the synthetic at Pakenham. Will strip far fitter and did place only other try second-up. Has the inside and should give a sight. PATYEP (2) was placed on the synthetic at Pakenham fresh then was safely held on soft ground on the turf. Fitter and back to a firmer footing is a big plus. BRUTALISM (4) is a three-start maiden and has improved at each run. Career best effort latest when a close-up fourth here and drawn for a soft run. Will wind up late. TIMOFEI (3) was close to the winner here fresh and strips trimmer. Expected to be running on hard. SUGGESTED PLAY: Hang in there with Moaksun.
