HARDINGS EARTHMOVING COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200m

Track: HEAVY 10   Rain (Max: 17)   Rail: True.

No surprise if the newcomers played a key role in the tempo of the race with little speed on paper. OL' MATE COOP (8) looks nicely placed to break through at fourth race start. Placed on a heavy track two runs back and while beaten favourite at Inverell, a return to wet ground can see him bounce back. GOLD PUMA (4) ran well enough on debut on a heavy track then improved at Inverell last time. On the way up and she's one of the main hopes. HERALD ANGEL (5) and VICE REGIS (2) are stepping out for the first time for leading trainer Matt Dunn and have trialled somewhat typically of the stable. Keep very safe. AYASAKI (1) is also on debut and worth a look. SUGGESTED PLAY: Ol' Mate Coop to win.

On debut fifth of 11 at Grafton Ctry Mdn-Sw September 23 over 1006m, 2.75 len behind Wendt carrying 56.5kg at $101. Disappointed last time and prefer to see him lift first.

Second-up held ground to the line 2nd of 13 at Inverell Mdn-Sw on May 23 over 1200m, 1.75 len behind Four Degrees with 57kg at $26. Showed some nice improvement at second start and could go on with it.

Three-year-old filly (All Too Hard - Sidereus Nuncius) has trialled on five occasions leading into today's race. Fourth over 900m in a Beaudesert trial on May 8. In the leading local stable and market will be significant but respect.

Dual acceptor. Third-up today and placed third-up previously. Resuming sat on the speed and boxed on steadily 2nd of 10 at Casino Mdn-Sw on May 3 over 1000m, on rain affected going; 1.0 len behind Rainbow Lass carrying 59kg at $10. Last start made some head-way from midfield; 2nd of 10 at Inverell Ctry Mdn on May 23 over 1050m, slow going 0.7 len behind City Gold Speed with 57kg at $8. Racing well and is hard to leave out of the chances.

Third-up today. First-up 3rd of 10 at Grafton Mdn-Sw on May 9 over 1130m, on a wet track; 2 len behind Ultimate Say carrying 56.5kg at $5.50. Second run from a spell sat on the speed and boxed on steadily 4th of 13 at Inverell Mdn-Sw on May 23 over 1200m, 2.5 len behind Four Degrees carrying 57kg at $2.80. Capable of a better showing. Beaten favourite last time but good effort in the wet previously so can atone.
