AVENUES (1) resumed with a good run at this track and distance, showing early pace and good fight late to hold onto second, beaten a nose. Should be plenty fitter for that and will be even harder to catch. VAN GERWEN (4) is a lightly raced type who resumed with a sound run first up at Sale over 1717m, finding the line nicely to be beaten a length. Fitter for that and the rise in trip suits. Go close. MORE TORQUE (5) has been solid in two runs back from a spell and is ready to fire. SHREWSBURY ROAD (8) was close up at Seymour last time and has claims on that effort. SUGGESTED PLAY: Avenues to win.
