Strong tempo with Unsung Heroine and Smile Wave leading the way over Occitania. SMILE WAVE (8) finished third two runs back at Mizusawa then improved last time out to score by a nose as public elect over 1200m at this track. Toshiki Yamamoto scored on him last time and retains the ride. Looks well placed so expect another big run. UNSUNG HEROINE (3) has progressed nicely in her last couple of runs. Finished second at Mizusawa two starts back then got the job done by one length as favourite last time out over 1000m at this track. Nicely placed to make it two on the bounce. OCCITANIA (1) improved sharply on her ninth two starts back at Mizusawa with a win over 1400m at Mizusawa two-and-a-half weeks ago, getting home by 1.75 lengths after being in contention on the turn. Likely to be there at the finish again. HAKUAI DREAM (2) scored two back at Mizusawa but was below his best last time when 11th over 1400m at this track. Finds a nice race and can atone.
