Plenty of pace from Wisteria River, Mina De Oro and Win Iolite vying for the lead, with a few others keeping them honest. OCTAVIANUS (2) is a handy type who resumes after a break of nine months. Only appeared once last prep when he finished fifth over 2000m at Tokyo, beaten 4.5 lengths. Christophe Lemaire who has scored on him three times retains the mount. Leading contender. AURORA X (7) could only manage third as favourite last start over 2200m at Hanshin after being in contention on the corner, making it two minor placings from three starts this campaign. Freshened for this. Expected to be in the finish. NISHINO RAIKO (9) returns from a layoff of ten weeks. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last time in work over 1600m at Tokyo. Hasn't scored when fresh from a break but generally races well with three minor placings. Makes plenty of appeal. CHANNEL TUNNEL (1) is having his first run since May 10. Has a strong record when fresh with two wins from two runs, the most recent over 1800m at this track at the start of last prep. One of the genuine hopes in the race.
