Expecting Mandate to lead Silver Dagger at just a moderate tempo. ALVARINHO (4) is Listed placed and went close here first-up when expected to need one. She flies second-up and has plenty up her sleeve. The one to beat. SILVER DAGGER (6) was seeking the hat-trick third-up and was plain, heavily backed. Connections put the flop down to the race pattern on a heavy track and expect her to bounce back. Maps well, and Newitt goes on. A danger at best. CARTOON GRAVEYARD (1) resumes and is proven fresh. He's raced okay at Listed level and has trialled sharply for his return. Has to be considered. DUSTLAND FAIRYTALE (7) is in a canny barn and is over from Victoria. Gets the top hoop and tumbles in weight this grade. Comes back to a sprint but has to be kept onside. MAKE A DECISION (3) just missed here second-up, and can build on that.
