Just a moderate tempo headed by Summer Breeze, Mister Roquette and Ziggy Khan.
MARGHERITA VELOCE (8) has only battled in her last couple of starts in tougher company after a solid fourth at New Plymouth fresh up. The key here is having Craig Grylls in the saddle, and his record when teaming up with the Robbie Patterson stable is second to none. Stick with her. SOPHMAZE (7) ran a much better race for third at New Plymouth just over 3 weeks ago, and finished third. She has needed racing to reach full fitness, and should hold her form now. SUMMER BREEZE (9) finished a game fifth as favourite here last time out and is very well placed in this field with only 51kg to carry. She can secure a handy run from a good gate and will be right in the finish here. DEADLY PONY (6) stuck on very gamely at Otaki just over a fortnight ago when finishing third. She slides down in class for this and can put herself right on the early pace. Her next win is not far away. KICK ON (1) dropped in class and distance last time out and ran a better race for fourth. Each way value here. SUGGESTED PLAY: Margherita Veloce to bounce back into form here. Each way.
